Newcastle FC (Aug 19)

Bruce has been vilified on here for years, as have the Newcastle fans for being fickle and especially deluded. So your point is invalid as it already happens and will continue to do so whatever Mr Potato head does. If you think he'll be defended on here by SAFC supporters then you are deluded, which kind of proves the point from a Sunderland perspective.
I think Bruce is perhaps a bad example given his history with your club. The point stands though, had we appointed and warmly welcomed Roberto Martinez, some sunderland fans would go to great lengths to downplay any success he enjoyed prior to taking the job, would spend hours stating that he's shit, or an arsehole, or whatever. But if we'd appointed and immediately not taken to him, some of you lot would be on here explaining why he's good manager and top bloke.

Not including the 1979 league cup ties it isn't. We won that on penalties after 2 draws and extra time so is a win in the eyes of The Football League. I was at both those games, were you? Oh and by the way I got a GCE "O" level in mathematics in 1981 so the joint matriculation board think my maths is okay, but obviously a genius like you is above them, Mag logic and all.. Maybe quick reckoning was wrong but semantics and being pedantic don't really change the fact that it is 64 years since you lot won owt. Which is closer to the date of the founding of the club in 1892 than it is to today, i.e. a long, long, time. Behemoth of a club.

Fish, you're right about if it was any other manager and probably right that some on here would be saying what a great bloke he is. In fact a few may well say that about Bruce if you're struggling all season and especially if you get relegated. That said I don't think you'll go down. 2nd season seems to be his Achilles heel more often than not these days, or I may have that in my head because that's when it turned sour at Villa and that's overiding my perception of him seeing as I live in Brum and get more Blues/ Villa/ West Brom news.

Didn’t even know about some game you scraped past us on pens tbf so if that’s true (probably) I’ll concede you have a better record owing to it. I wasn’t born in 1979 so didn’t attend.

Still though, thank you for confirming we are (comfortably) bigger than Manchester City.

I don’t think knowing that 1992 plus 29 isn’t 2019 proves someone is a ‘genius’.

Bit of a radge tangent towards the end as well as I’m not claiming we’re a behemoth of a club (I can’t see where anyone is).

"Scraped past" ,"Wasn't born in 1979", change subject to bring Man.City into it, then accuse me of going of on a tangent.... You're a 92er aren't you? Classic symptoms.

People post things to wind the lurking Mags up because they know you'll be watching, you respond with pages and pages desperately 'defending' the club and we sit here laughing at you.

The Benitez situation was hilarious because he relegated the club, played dire football and did nothing but whinge about his players ... yet you'd be all over this place claiming he was a football genius, performing miracles and how he loved the supporters.

There's a very good reason for that ...

That's just poking a hole in your 'logic'. It isn't changing the subject, it's the basis of your last point in where you have formed an argument in your head.

War and Peace has started again I see

Total myth about shaggy being a sicknote, and an excellent player also
why DID he average less than 25 games a year at Spurs over 12 years then if he wasn't injured a lot?
out for 4 weeks :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

and he's been training with us all summer so it' snot just a case of not being fit

Aren’t you the dafty that thought 1992 was 29 years ago?

Wouldn’t be banging on about logic if I were you considering simple mathematics is beyond you but thanks for claiming we’re bigger than Man City going by your logic of your closing statement. I disagree like but each to their own.
Our records are even, btw. 53 each and 49 draws.
"Only in the complex world of "doesn't post much anymore" does NUFC repaying Mike Ashley his short term loan of £33 million, in 2017/18, not constitute a reduction in debt. "

Simple mathematics.....?
