So, this week's listening:
Sufjan EP - two new tracks plus a 1996 demo of one and a brief reprise of the other. Both songs are quite nice but nothing life changing.
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - as
@Mickdundee says, like a more accessible King Gizzard. Cracking fun!
Richard Hawley - some cracking tunes. More focussed than Hollow Meadows.
Sacred Paws - very good. Lots of African guitar. Indie bands seem to be catching on to African sounds (well, this lot and The Wave Pictures). Bouncy/exhuberent.
Gnoomes - third album of Krautrocky sounds from Mother Russia. Enjoyable again!
Pip Blom - sort of grungy indie rock from Dutch (I think) band. Quite good!
Sinkane - seventh album, I believe. He's talented. Blends African music with a bit of dance and electronica.
Topic Records comp - if you like folk, you'll enjoy this. A combo of older artists (Richard Thompson, Martin Carthy, Peggy Seeger, Martin Simpson) and newer reinterpreting songs from the label's back catalogue.
School Of Language - excellent as usual. Could be Field Music but clearly isn't.
