Rules on going to a gig by yourself?

Sad or socially acceptable?

Sadly all my pals have shocking music taste

I go to every gig by myself, if I didn't I would just miss out. My mates don't like music.

It's fine, especially if you have a posh phone that can get on Twitter/here/wherever when waiting between bands. I don't like, but still no problem, the awkwardness wears off after you've done it a few times. :-)

I went to rakes of gigs on my todd back in the day. REM at Tiffanys, Talking Heads at NCH etc. Nivver have seen the likes of Television, Blondie, Cure, Associates, Jam, Human League, Teardrop Explodes, Bunnymen, Simple Minds, U2, Pretenders etc etc in small venues if Id have to rely on waiting for my marras musical tastes to evolve from the mid 70s hairy metal type shite they were listening to back then. Its cool to be ahead of the crowd marra, but you know that already.

Got the new Sleigh Bells album, like it a lot. Better than the second but not as good as Treats. Will be gutted if they don't tour the UK next year.

Got Haim tickets the other day as well for next March, tempted to try and get up to Scotland to see the Twilight Sad do their first album again if I can find someone to go with.

Go for it. Just started doing it this summer - was finding it increasingly impossible to get people to traipse into NYC for gigs on a school night and as a result I was missing out. Really wanted to see Frank Turner and just thought fuck it! Wasn't too bad. Off to 2 more this month (Biffy and 2-door + possibly Frightened Rabbit) and then FT again in Nov - I'm done with missing music just for the sake of chitchat between bands!

That's a relief! The second was incredibly drab.
