Cheers, marra! Any idea how deep it is at that part of the river? I expect it’d have to be pretty deep to get something like HMS Ocean along it safely!

Obviously depending on tide but even at low tide Corp quay is about 7-10 meters

Beyond the main bases only southampton has the requisite facilities to accomodate nuclear subs. Its to do with nuclear saftey/emergency planning.

Lovely idea but unlikely unless the new class’s lead ship has a name beginning with S.

We’ve already got the city class destroyers, so naming the new ships after a city seems unlikely.

Not to say they can’t break with convention of course

The Sunderland Emergency vessel (Ocean class) basically won the second world war so yes. But on the other hand any hms vessel named Ocean is basically a Sunderland ship so we already do it in all but name, even if at the moment the Ocean is technically decommissioned. Stick with tradition imho.
