Mowbray

Any ideas who we could get who'll do a better job without a striker?
We've been completely over run in midfield in the last 3 games, we're losing possession, not tracking runners, unable to pass the ball forward, can't even make a tackle. Mowbray has persisted with the same formation and largely the same players
As a poster pointed out on another thread he's sick of watching Dan Neil getting robbed in possession and its costing us a goal every time.

If Mowbray can't see that or won't do anything about it he shouldn't be managing us

The club have completely done him over with the striker situation. Like last time earlier in the season we are getting gradually more ineffective in attack every week.

Nonetheless today I have no idea what was going on with midfield. There were 4 of them on the bench, just pick one.

I think hes trying to be too clever finding ways to compensate for no Stewart/Simms mind. Just go back to how it was and it'll work some weeks and not in others. I'll accept that. At present its not working at all because its just weird tinkering making it worse.

So who should we put in with our amazing array of options?

I'm a big fan of the job he has done here so far, but I said from the minute the line-up came out that the CM selection especially was bonkers and so it proved.

Mind-boggling really.

It will work against some teams

No man they are WINGERS they are bot centre of goal who they can target and there is no outlet at all if you need get someone to ease pressure and hold up pitch like stewart does or some times he will just out run them and get an oppourtunity. We haven't got that at all. Can you not see that? Please tell me you can?

Yes no one.He has been shafted by Speakman in relation to his failure to sign a big physical centre forward.Having said that Speakman has recruited some excellent players but the balance is wrong. It is inevitable that youngsters willl run out of steam and will need resting. We are not in a position to do this so a poor run was sadly inevitable.Mowbray is not perfect but I don’t know another manager who would have been prepared to come here who would have done a better job.Who would not have snapped their hands off for 49 points at this stage?

Obviously the lack of signing a striker isn't TM's fault but I think he is culpable in the decision not to go for an out of contract player. What kind of development are our young players getting playing in a team without a natural target man? I will tell you, none. Its the only time it will ever happen in their careers.

After we have been bullied in the centre midfield postion for 3 games now, Mowbrays answer was to only play with one natural centre midfielder, mental to be honest, 09 had to be in there (or Matete but we stupidly let him leave before the end or the window).

Neil, Clarke, Amad and Roberts all look leggy and we have seemingly abandoned the idea of playing Bennette, Ba and Lihadji who are all young players with a bit of pace. Strange

We are likely in the middle of a run of 8 or 9 defeats & no wins in 10.
Speakman completely shafted him in the transfer window, but he won't see the season out

…and to rectify that, we play with one midfielder.
