If you are low on funds have a look at Pelaw in the short term.

It hasn't got that much going for it other than it has cracking links on the Metro to Newcastle, Shields and Sunderland. Also a Lidl and Aldi next to each other:lol:

  2. It's lush up there, aye. My mate lived in Whitley Bay for a while and he said that was surprisingly nice, too.

    Agreed. Only morons

  4. I don't need it to be the life and soul of Tyne and Wear so long as I can get around easily. Cheers! See, this is why I started the thread, because I would never have thought about Pelaw. If I'm honest, all I know is that it's a metro stop.

The fact that it is a metro stop is it's main selling point:lol:

The main factor is it's on both metro lines. It would be a cheap base and you can get out of dodge very very quickly.

You are used to Shildon so it won't be a culture shock:lol:

Fuck knows. Looks great from the outside.

A lot of my mates who previously lived in Heaton/Jesmond have moved to Gateshead in recent years. Maybe that's a thing?

Quite expensive for most young people living on their own though.

OP have you considered moving to the sticks, but some different sticks?

I always like the look of Morpeth and Hexham.

  12. They're nice places but they don't help me get to Newcastle or Sunderland for work.

Half an hour in the car to Newcastle.

If you get a job in Sunderland you can buy my house if you want.

And you could move into his gaff in Shildon, problem solved.

Lass I work with lives there and it frequently takes her an hour given the traffic. (Morpeth).

And that’s not even to the centre of town if thats where you’re working.

Morpeth is a quick commute to Newcastle on the train like

    Also where do you park?

I think a Metro station nearby is fairly top of the list if working in Newcastle.
