Moving Pictures-Rush

Don't start there @skullmeister. It's decent enough, but it's not seminal Rush.

I think it's pretty typical of the mid-80's to early 90's Rush. (My favourite era of theirs)

Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire and Roll The Bones are all a similar vibe. (I'm not familiar with Presto so I'm not sure if it fits with the other four in this list).

They might not be "hardcore" Rush but they're all very accessible IMO.

The first album's actually very Zeppy. Nowt like any of the rest of their stuff that came later, but interesting nonetheless. :D

Probably not the best starting point to get to know them as a band though.

Grace Under Pressure was the album that got me into Rush. Try starting there maybe?
I agree with the first album being different and a bit Zeppy, i love it anyway, but the significant factor being Neil Peart was on board from Fly By Night (2nd album) onwards after John Rutsey's departure.
Class. Passage to Bangkok - great riff.
Lessons for me, always been one of my fav tracks although not one of their most played tunes.
