CorrectHe actually said it would force Sports Direct to change as they have a 63/35 split of store/online sales.
It seems you havent bothered to read or listen to what he said

Totally missing the point.Blame the students mesell
Towns are just full of flats and coffee shops for the fuckers
Self interest again from him.Everybody knows the benefits of online shopping but those benefits are killing town centres.
He was asked how to save the high st and he give a very logical answer.
Self interest again from him.
Aye,its charity shops as well ,stopping proper shops being thereTotally missing the point.
Surely it is a good thing to have a high street full of coffee shops and vegan caffs for the students, so all of these things can be out of the way ?
Clearly he is .With the tax in place businesses would slowly put emphasis on balancing the mix of where they do business to get under the threshold thus protecting real shops .Bold move but he's set up for life so can afford to have principles and make suggestionsHe does 400 million a year on line. Over a million quid a day. Hes suggesting he himself pays a premium tax on that huge amount ??
I know, all these fuckin places where people meet up and socialise.Went to the commons to talk about the state of the high street and one solution is to tax online sales.
When is the solution not to further increase taxes? The high street can fuck off for me, who needs it.
Is that excluding the one on High Street West in Sunderland and the one on Northumberland Street in Newcastle? So if he really wants to save the high street why are so many of his jumble sale style shops in out of town tin sheds. The blokes a hypocrite, as someone said in if for himself. If he buys or controls many more shops it would be the worst thing for high street.
It will soon be Mike Ashley V Amazon. Straight up fight.
Facts are not welcome around these parts. I suspect he is upset because the Metro Centre doesn't have one inside. Is that excluding the one on High Street West in Sunderland and the one on Northumberland Street in Newcastle?
Or the majority of his House of Fraser stores? Or the majority of Debenhams? Or the majority of Flannels?
Wtf you on about? Plenty reasons the high street is dying. Too many out of town sheds being built, internet giants who dont pay tax, rates and mike ashley buying buying up all competition. He wants his cake and to eat it the fat fk.Facts are not welcome around these parts. I suspect he is upset because the Metro Centre doesn't have one inside.
Couldn’t agree more. There’s virtually no need for the high street these days, especially in places like Sunderland where it is absolutely shite. Give it another ten years when the last of the non internet users die off and it’s finished. Flatten the shops, build houses and use the rest of the space for bars/restaurants/leisure facilities that still have a place.
Ironically the metro centre is great. Loads of space and well laid out.Facts are not welcome around these parts. I suspect he is upset because the Metro Centre doesn't have one inside.
Couldn’t agree more.
Why do we want to save the high st anyway?
It’s an outdated way of shopping.
Absolutely. Can you order a fat lass online?
