Congerton had experience in the role he took. Similarly Bain had been CEO of a football club previously. Byrne was a simply amateurish appointment - totally stupid and the start of the rot. I sometimes wonder if Lee Congerton had been allowed to do his job and properly backed things may have improved. Somewhere along the line we should have stuck to one plan.

Celtic fans have been critical of their recruitment in the last 2 windows. He was a huge flop at Hamburg. Another who talked a good game but was more fart than shite. Bain was involved in one of the worlds biggest clubs going bust. He did alright at Maccabi Tel Aviv but was only there 6 months and most of their success is down to Jordi Cruyff who was their General Manager.

Wish we were as shitty as Celtic

Only on course for the treble

masterminded rodwell deal offering him a contract without a relegation clause

Knew about the Johnson scandal and kept it quiet

Took a pay off and fucked off

Just one example of corrupt incompetent arseholes making the decisions that brought us to league one

Indeedy.

Quite ironic the SAFC downfall has been orchestrated by Fat Mags.

Beginning of the end for us sadly, around 2011 is when it started spiralling out imo. Gyan left on loan, we bought David Vaughan, Craig Gardner, etc, Bendtner on loan... suddenly went from a promising attacking team under Bruce to sacking managers and loaning players, fighting relegation, the 2013 was the De Fanti Summer with Cabral etc. The year later we brought Rodwell in and loaned Alvarez from Inter. Must have wasted so much money during these few years and we never recovered.

have to agree with the sentiment of that.
SNQ left in 2012 but ES took over as chairman in 2011.
That meant 2 rookies together as chairman and ceo.
Who was there to hold them back and reign them in if required
As much as ES can blame Byrne ( and I think he has every right too), Byrne can blame ES as well (as she had lost the football brain of SNQ) and ES was a complete rookie at running a football club.
A perfect storm was brewing.

So let's get this right while MB is to blame ES is culpable as SNQ left in 2012 and we have become FS

snq was to hand over the chairmanship to es in 2011.

snq stayed on as IIRC the international development, which was a drop down from what role it was thought he was to get.

so in 2011 we had a relatively inexperienced ceo in Byrne and had a chairman who had even less of a knowledge of a football club than the ceo.

No one betters her for incompetence

She started the whole spiral with how she fixed contracts and to make it worse - at our expense - she saw how much could be made from agents and became one. Do you think this problem is only 2 years old -?
Spot on, no football experience at all got too friendly with the players hence the crying they did to her about managers being beastly to them, tossers.she sanctioned almost everything most times without consulting Short.I was once told by a prominent ex player that she had Carte Blanche on all club affairs , Johnson lies, Rodwell contract beyond belief etc etc, Di Fanti, Congerton, Hutchinson etc oversaw the lot.Byrne walks on a golden handshake knowing she's unlikely to get another position so instead becomes an agent and allegedly buys certain players to get on her books, she may have been gone for 2 years or so but the shit started on her watch.

Some bastard has to be held to account, for me overall its Short and Byrne for incompetence beyond belief, bad judgement, apathy etc etc this season Coleman must take the blame he had since mid November to sort this out albeit he couldn't educate the pork he was left with, he didn't speak to Grabban to persuade him to stay and he's loan signings have been abysmal absolute crap.
