This is true.We might not be better off if we don’t replace him. Could easily be the difference between promotion or not.
No panic here just disappointed we've lost a very decent striker marra.1 of which had never played a first team game and the other was barely a bench-warmer
It's hardly panic stations - we need a replacement for Maja and an extra body would be nice too
Why would he want to do that? And why the fuck not? If he had signed a new contract with a release clause and gone at the end of the season instead, they would have wished him well.
Its the way he's gone about it.
How the fuck would you know how it works? Fuck off back on twitter pretending you are ITK. Clown.Doesn’t work like that payment might have been budgeted for summer
As said in the articles it will mean our financial position won’t change and we won’t be in a better position after this deal
Same here. I don't see the need to bring Nelson and Sinclair into the equation thoughNo panic here just disappointed we've lost a very decent striker marra.
Our category one status is just for other clubs, not to help us build a teamNice feeder club we have turned into, Who would have thunk it
haha maybe, see my post above about agent, I think they reckon this is his quickest way to play top flight footy, honestly think its a good move for him
I think they wanted to get him abroad for football reasons but he has only ended up at bordeux because of our end and Khazri, IMO
If we don’t spend on a replacement striker we definitely won’t be going up.I'm a little bit disappointed that the Maja money won't go into the transfer kitty but I can see the reason why. We still have to pay of transfer fees. At least any outstanding money that we owe Bordeaux is gone at it's one less debt.
I still think Donald's job is to clear any debts, make us sufficient, financial stable and get us back into the Championship challenging for promotion. If he does that I think Sartori will buy Donald's share.
No matter how you look at it, the club is £1.5 million better off for the deal.Weren't the parachute payments covering legacy fees though. We also received a legacy fee for PVA, 200k for players going to World Cup, over 5 mill for Paddy, 2.5 for Asoro.
Massive, make or break our season marra.Same here. I don't see the need to bring Nelson and Sinclair into the equation though
Shit day. Big 6 days coming up for SAFC
Exactly. Even if he'd went to another club, would we still be using that as an excuse?SD would have accounted for a £1.5 million payment to Bordeaux anyway so surely we can use the money he’d have offset anyway?
Like Pickford going to Evertonjust seems a bit suss that we happen to owe them money, he just happens to end up going there of all places, manager has literally no idea who the lad is etc.. once it became apparent he wasn't signing a new deal just think we may have had a bit more to do with this than we are led to believe
not that it matters like. we owed them the money anyway
We'll never know, but I think it's highly unlikely that we would have sold him to Bordeaux just to settle the Khazri deal. I don't know how much we owe them, but we weren't looking to sell for a start and, once we accepted he was going,we wouldn't care which club he went as long as we were getting the money.
I agree about the agent....it seems as though he's persuaded Maja to go for the most lucrative deal he could get whilst it's on the table. It may be that the English clubs who might have had an interest wanted to see how he copes with Championship defences before splashing out. To be honest,if he thinks Maja is a one trick pony and his value will go down if the goals dry up,it's maybe understandable, even if short sighted.
So how would they get the agent/Maja to agree to it, end up some where they don’t want to be and forfeit their free agent signing on fee?
Maybe I don’t get what you’re implying.
If Bordeaux benefit from getting ‘a great deal’ and a good player, we get a fee (regardless of where it’s offset) and the player/agent are complicit then isn’t that just a regular transfer and not some great conspiracy?
Can't keep relying on Defoe! If we don’t spend on a replacement striker we definitely won’t be going up.
So was he. Fuck himOur press releases are incredibly childish.
