Has Bordeaux been the only club interested?
There was rumours of a few German clubs and C Palace but was there any real interest.

Doesn’t work like that payment might have been budgeted for summer

As said in the articles it will mean our financial position won’t change and we won’t be in a better position after this deal
How the fuck would you know how it works? Fuck off back on twitter pretending you are ITK. Clown.

haha maybe, see my post above about agent, I think they reckon this is his quickest way to play top flight footy, honestly think its a good move for him

I think they wanted to get him abroad for football reasons but he has only ended up at bordeux because of our end and Khazri, IMO

We'll never know, but I think it's highly unlikely that we would have sold him to Bordeaux just to settle the Khazri deal. I don't know how much we owe them, but we weren't looking to sell for a start and, once we accepted he was going,we wouldn't care which club he went as long as we were getting the money.
I agree about the agent....it seems as though he's persuaded Maja to go for the most lucrative deal he could get whilst it's on the table. It may be that the English clubs who might have had an interest wanted to see how he copes with Championship defences before splashing out. To be honest,if he thinks Maja is a one trick pony and his value will go down if the goals dry up,it's maybe understandable, even if short sighted.

I'm a little bit disappointed that the Maja money won't go into the transfer kitty but I can see the reason why. We still have to pay of transfer fees. At least any outstanding money that we owe Bordeaux is gone at it's one less debt.

I still think Donald's job is to clear any debts, make us sufficient, financial stable and get us back into the Championship challenging for promotion. If he does that I think Sartori will buy Donald's share.
If we don’t spend on a replacement striker we definitely won’t be going up.

just seems a bit suss that we happen to owe them money, he just happens to end up going there of all places, manager has literally no idea who the lad is etc.. once it became apparent he wasn't signing a new deal just think we may have had a bit more to do with this than we are led to believe

not that it matters like. we owed them the money anyway
Like Pickford going to Everton

Its mad after all theyve done so far...people dont trust the ownership.

So how would they get the agent/Maja to agree to it, end up some where they don’t want to be and forfeit their free agent signing on fee?

Maybe I don’t get what you’re implying.

If Bordeaux benefit from getting ‘a great deal’ and a good player, we get a fee (regardless of where it’s offset) and the player/agent are complicit then isn’t that just a regular transfer and not some great conspiracy?

We talk to Bordeaux who we owe money to. Let them know we have a highly rated prospect, who with a long term contract, is worth a lot more than 1.5 million, and will develop and be worth more and already has prem interest.

Agent gets a foreign move he wants and Maja gets a nice lumper of a signing on fee.

Out of every team on the planet he signs for the one that we owe money to for the exact amount of money we owe them. And for a manager who has never heard of him so it looks like the club has been targeted rather than the player.

Charlie Methven has already stated that academy players with be sold to cover clubs loses. This is a short cut version of that.

It will. If we do owe Bordeaux money from Khazri (which is unconfirmed speculation, by the way), then we no longer need to pay it out, and thus that money will be freed up for other things. There may be a short term timing issue, but that can almost certianly be worked around.

The club has appeared more and more like a bitter ex boyfriend with each unplanned departure

Its got a little bit tin pot hasn't it. Mind you I guess the owner being in twitter and chatting a load of shit all the time is also a bit League 1/non league behaviour.

Good move for Maja. Hard to knock him really, he's earned himself a nice step up there.

Deeply concerned that we might choke now. We haven't been playing well for months really and relied heavily on Maja being so clinical. We're going to have to step things up massively from now on.
