Just seen this on Twitter.

Didn’t SD say on RR that we owed no transfer dealings apart NDong and the Alvarez dealings.

But RR reporting it’s paying a debt to Bordeaux.

Strange.

This

I don’t care if it’s a debt we owed, makes sense. But would prefer the owner not to bullshit us on those debts in a public forum

Aye seem to remember him saying that. Something along the lines of the last player acquisition debts being cleared with a final cheque.

How’s it nonesense they pay initial see of 1.5 mil for maja and we owe a similar fee on khazri the two cancel each other out
Because it was budgeted to pay them and now they are paid which frees up the funds that were originally earmarked to make the payment.

They do. But if we had sold him elsewhere we would still have owed them
I thought the crack with the parachute payments was that it was covering legacy transfers this year. We've also had in 7.5 mill from McNair & Asoro + a payment from Crystal Palace for PVA

I'm not bitter but that looks too much like the daft bassa is now playing for a club sponsored by sweetcorn.

Thanks for the goals but I think you'll regret this decision from a pure footballing perspective.

Rapide? Have they been scouting the right player?

Can't see that. The club made every effort to keep him. No,I think his agent has persuaded him to cash in whilst he has the chance. Big risk for his career I think, particularly when, although I do like the lad and he is a natural finisher, there isn't much else to his game at the minute and....if the goals dry up,which they often do in strikers at various times,he could have made a big mistake.
If I'd been advising him I'd want him to stay where he is,sign a new deal with a release clause, look to get promoted as the league top scorer and give it a season or two in the Championship hoping for lots more goals at that higher level. Then, still a young player, see where we are and who comes calling. If all goes to plan,it'll be better than Bordeaux.
Sorry I mean I think the club wanted him to stay if he signed a new contract. The second he didn’t they will have pushed him out this window.

Lifestyle will be a draw, it’s surely not about football as he could’ve stayed here, scored 30 goals, become a championship player and played in a final at Wembley not to mention get himself up there as a fan favourite and lift £250k a year minimum.
Exactly. He'll be living within half an hours drive to the dordogne area and a couple of hours from the riviera.

What's not to like with a four and a half year contract.

thought so initially but with what RR are saying makes you think twice. especially as the Bordeaux link came from absolutely nowhere

Well it came from nowhere to us mate, but his agent may have been talking to them for months for all we know.

 Not for the first time.;)

haha maybe, see my post above about agent, I think they reckon this is his quickest way to play top flight footy, honestly think its a good move for him

I think they wanted to get him abroad for football reasons but he has only ended up at bordeux because of our end and Khazri, IMO

Doesn’t work like that payment might have been budgeted for summer

As said in the articles it will mean our financial position won’t change and we won’t be in a better position after this deal
