Fletcher was prolific when we first signed him in the PL, that soon changed.

If reports are correct and Maja has emptied his stuff, vowing he will never play for us again, he's an absolute disgrace. If it is true, I must say I'm surprised, he never struck me as that personality type.
That’s what’s annoyed me the most in all of this to be truthful. I didn’t think for a second he was capable of this. I’m usually wrong about most things but That doesn’t make this any easier. It’s our manager I feel for in all of this. He’s had nothing but good things to say about the lad both on a personal and professional basis and he’s turned on him and kicked him square in the stotts.

Similar fee to Marriott and roofe last summer. I personally don't think it's a bad deal tbh especially if he's starting to act the kernt

Thought Marriott went 6 mill. Peterborough played out his contract stuff very publicly with regards to him and Maddison. Not sure if Maddison is still out of contract in the summer or what

Wonder if Scott Hogan on loan would be an option? He's only played 6 times for Villa this season and has a good record in a higher leage.

I'd imagine his wages would be substantial though.

gut feeling is they want watmore to take majas place with a n other coming in
Hope not Watmore is no striker

Well they said months ago we were already looking at players for jan who could sign this window and make step up in Jan so I expect them to have afew lined up.

It is always difficult to replace a goalscorer & integrate people quickly though
I agree but here’s hoping!

He also said several players went straight to him and committed to the club mate.
What we didn't want is Maja going on strike and us not having the funds to bring someone decent in.

It's a fair point & accept that we have to sell him. Just not sure where we'd be at if we didn't sell the deadline. To me as a fan I'd have kept him at all costs and sorted his contract stuff in summer just because it's promotion at all costs for me but I know there's lots of lines of thinking here.

Primarily Ross needs to get the team playing better football on the pitch or Jan won't make a difference regardless.

Yeah agree. It would have been good for his development if he was still here working with coaches that know him & his game however if we are in League 1 next year then he probably doesn't need another season in league 1. Whereas if Honeyman/Hume/Robson/Kimpioka/Mumba are in league 1 next year it would easily still aid their development
How do you come to that conclusion? your brain isnt wired up right. Have an ignore, sick of your senseless drivel

Right but we set a public deadline to sign or sell and he hasn't signed so was obvious we were going to sell him.

No agenda other than wanting us to be promoted because we can't afford to keep losing players from the academy & talented youngsters like Asoro & Maja. As I've said in another thread they were handed the club for nowt, debt free. We are in the third tier of English football and I expect to be promoted. Fabulous opportunity for all parties. Owners said they'd invest the extra matchday revenue and deliver the players this month, we've seen little movement yet however it will heat up. We are now also selling Maja who is our best player so I'm expecting big things in January. The owners will earn my respect if they get us up and then invest money into the side. I'll comment again in 9 days but sick of this agenda stuff & sly digs. Im sick of watching shite football to be honest, that's where im at.

I'm not going to criticise Maja when he's been great from us & when we set this public deadline. He's the only reason why we're so high this year.

Absolutely agree word for word

I’m also sick of this agenda stuff, I just want to get promoted, that’s it.

The club was debt free and we’ve had a hell of a lot of fees come in, for big crowds like they asked but seen very little investment so far

9 days left so we will see but nothing to indicate we will invest much of it back

By the fact he already looks too good for league 1 whereas we have fringe players who probably wouldn't get the same opportunity in higher league. Pretty obvious. T'ra

I think my point is that in our current situation, if any of our youth players do come good, we'll be lucky to keep them for over a season. Kimpioka, Embleton, Robson and Connelly are all pushing for first team football atm & if any of them have a breakthrough few months they'll get bids; can we refuse them?

Yeah we can but they won’t

Seems all to be about income and not football at the minute

This for me, it was what I posted when the story he wasn’t signing first came out. JR has done nothing but be positive about him, and talk up the relationship between them.
If it’s true he told him he’d sign Maja has been less than fair to him.

It’s a hangover from the Short era, these kids are not getting proper contracts, at young age they should be incentives for when they improve to under 21s, first team etc, the more they improve the better the contract gets

Somethings going wrong this year marra we’ve got loads of young players expiring in the summer, I don’t understand why they ain’t getting it sorted

Leaving isn't an issue as such. The fact he kept telling Ross and Donald he wanted to sign and play for us, when in fact he was plotting away, is the bit that narks me. If he didn't say it, then why hasn't he come out and denied it? Donald actually said Maja went to see Ross unprompted the other week to say he was gonna sign the contract. He knows the turmoil this club has gone through. He's seen it from the inside himself The club and Ross gave him his chance, and he has back stabbed us and listened to his agent, who is out for the most money.

Of course they are totally entitled to make that decision, but don't expect me not to see his legs drop off, for taking us for a ride. He's a young lad, but i fear he might regret the way he has let this situation affect people who had his back, on a personal and professional level. He's made his bed now and can fuck right off as far as i'm concerned.
Good post mate.

Maja man

He will never be heard of again and i cant wait to watch him drift off into obscurity

I dont think hes all that at all and have said so all along . Hes scoring goals at a ridiculously shit level .

Fuck him.

I agree mate and I changed my mind a few times but as he was still playing and scoring I thought sod the money, keep him and get up.

The news today has changed this though, if true. He's no good to us if he won't play.

Those who are abusing need a reality check. Top scorer in side that has created very little from open play in many of its games this year and the quality of some of his finishes have been superb. No doubt for me his hold up play has come on a ton from last year/start of the season with some of his recent play been very good/some not so good but definitely improving. Got to admit I didn't pick up on it quickly enough but our poverty and league one position has left us horrendously weak when it comes to clubs taking our younger players and even attracting the better quality players in the region to our club. Long term effects in the academy could be very telling in the years to come. Got to get out of this league asap.

Interesting reading this forum today and also the comments on twitter which people have posted. Very strange scenario really but he’s played a game with his agent to SD & JR.

I believe this will have a huge impact on us and people had been hoping Pompey and Luton would lose players and this has happened. I don’t blame him or our hierachy.

Could derail our season this. I know people say he didn’t bring much be he was superb recently and who goalscorong ability and eye for goal was superb.

Big big window for SD and JR. Huge.

An absolutely devastating blow for us. Always a challenge trying to find someone who can get the goals, at any level.
