Exactly. Now we know the full story and that the blame lies with the agent. If we intend to continue playing him it's best for all concerned that the supporters get behind him.....which is easier if he's a young lady getting bad advice than if he's a greedy, lying, so and so.

I'm sorry, but i don't see how you can blame the agent entirely and not Maja.

It's Maja's decision at the end of the day, if he really wanted to sign and was happy with what we offered (which the story appears to be), then why has it taken him months to make a decision and decide not to sign anyway.

The agent works for Maja, not the other way round!

We should still play him if JR feels his head is right imo. He's by far our biggest goal threat and is improving his game by the week, it makes no sense to lose this if the lad is prepared to work hard and try his best.

It does if it prevents others from getting game time

7.5x his current salary. The player and agent are as bad as each other.

It also makes it look like it’s the club who have said he refused to sign - SSN never says “so and so’s agent told us he wouldn’t sign a new deal” so the inference would have been that we hadn’t given what he wanted.

Agreed.

If it had played out as it normally would SD would be bombarded with requests for information while having to say "no comment" allowing everyone to fill in the gaps based upon their own biases or beliefs. (See every other thread over the past week!).

And all the while the agent sits back and fields phone calls about his now 'available' player while we play 'catch up'.

Rightly or wrongly SD has outed the agent and Maja which could easily make things harder to patch up.

But at least we know what's actually playing out in this situation.

Wyke should lead the line going forward, don’t play Maja, as simple as that. He isn’t pulling in the same direction as the rest of the club. We don’t need that mentality in the team. Playing players who want away gets you absolutely nowhere.

I think only Jack Ross can know where the lad is mentally. It sounds as though he still feels like he can be useful. I know it's hard to see as a supporter because we all care so much but there is room for him to plan on leaving this summer and see his contract out giving his absolute best.

In fact, the reality that he's looking for the best deal possible in six months means he's got every reason to keep his form up.

It's a gamble, but you've got to trust the manager to make that call.

Obviously I'm not thrilled Maja is leaving because I think he's a top prospect. However, it seems like that was always going to be the case despite the best efforts of SAFC to keep him.

Therefore I am glad we have an owner who will call these parasites out publicly. Far too many people pander to them when they do nowt but take from the game with little to no positive contribution. They've had a decent hand in ruining our club and I can't believe any SAFC/football fan wouldn't find some pleasure in one of them being slated in public and shown up for what they are.

Also...at the point world leaders are using twitter to do their business I think anyone who believes it to be unprofessional is living in a different era. It's not as formal but as we have all seen it can be very effective in getting an unfiltered story across, especially if you have an audience you want to talk directly to.
He's right !!!

There is also the message it sends to the other forwards. If Maja is picked ahead of Wyke or Watmore, what are they going to think? The manager would rather play someone that doesn't want to be here ahead of them?

As much as agents are just out for the money maja obviously doesn’t want to be here so would get him sold get replacement in ASAP

We dont really have the full story do we. More than we usually do but not the full story.

Can see where you are coming from but just the other day there was a quote from Gooch after he signed his new deal where he said "not sure why it took so long" (I'm paraphrasing) so it could have been partly the admin process to blame too.

Thing is though it sounds like he does want to be here, he’s just being talked out of it by a piece of shit agent.

No of course not. I highlighted that many use Twitter and other platforms for their organisation’s advantage. This is exactly what SD is doing, calling the agents unprofessional actions out in public whilst urging supporters to back the player whilst he and the Manager try and sort out the situation in the best interests of the club

At the end of the day the message has got to get to Agents, that SAFC is no longer be going to be held to ransom.

Been there before and had the piss took out of us and look what happened. The owners have invested time and money and want to make a success of the club for everyone. Perhaps we should give them time to do it.

But at the end of the day, the club has to be more than one individual player. If the agent and Maja, do not want to play for us here why would we want to keep him.

I understand he is scoring goals, but so do the owners and management understand this. If the agent has gone to Sky without informing the club, then all clubs should not deal with him.

All League clubs, need to come together to stop the rot and perfidious actions of these Agents. Most of whom could walk upright under snakes bellies, while wearing top hats and without crouching. "Hissing Sid's".

We have to back the owners, it is in their vested interests, for the Club, themselves and the Supporters, that this situation get resolved. However it is a two way process, now terms agreed by the club and not by the player on advice of his agent.

Not be the first youngster to get it wrong and won't be the last. The club is what matters to us, whatever happens, we are still in a much better position than last season.

Happy to leave it to owners and JR to resolve and what will be will be. If avid supporters don't let Maja see what a special place SAFC is.

Then it his loss to be honest at this time and is money with no playing time worth a move in light of all potential changes being mooted about. In light of how many players can be held by top teams?

Fair enough, but the only difference with that is Gooch obviously wants to be here, he signed, Maja not so much!

You've been mouthing off on here for weeks that the owner wouldn't give Maja the money he wanted, it now turns out we did offer him what the agent wanted and all you've got left in your locker is to moan about a tweet. You're an absolute mentalist and should seek help.

Whatever mate. You are right as always.

And no need to get personal

I don't personally agree with this, it should be down to Ross to make the call like he did with Cattermole.
Big difference though. Cattermole was never given an ultimatum and is a senior pro. Maja through himself/agent has stated he does not want to sign a contract and does not want to be here past the summer. Given the fact he is only a young lad, his head I would imagine will be all over and I doubt we will see the same level of performance. If he starts tomorrow and mis controls a pass, some fans will be on his back, this will have a negative impact on the team. I don’t ever want to see him play for us again, but wish him well.
