Can someone remind me of the last day rules as regards when teams can shake hands?

Rules seem to state that all days go on until 6pm. There is therefore simply not enough time to score the runs needed.
 
How come when Swann does this for England we applaud what a good batsman he is, but against Durham it's poor bowling....?

Anyway, 183 to win from 21 overs.
 
They're making around 10 an over so if they keep this up we wont need to worry whether it's 21, 24 or whatever.
