Latest boxing crack

100% on that

Even saying he’s probably the best boxer is a massive faux pas there mind his windmills from miles out of range dont trouble many these days !

Pulevs a nothing fighter these days, he pushed Whyte well but that was years ago and Whyte is nothing but his replacement when he finally retires !

I agree with the calls for Hunter, maybe Hrgovic after fights Zhang bit a champion should be taking on up and coming fighters not past it gatekeepers who they already smacked around twice over
That's fair enough (replace the word 'boxer' with 'fighter'). You could certainly make a case for Hunter beating Chisora, I wouldn't disagree.

But let's not pretend there are levels between them. The top 2-3 in the division are miles ahead of the rest followed by a group of 6 or so that includes Joyce, Parker, Whyte etc, but they're all unavailable. Chisora and and Hunter are amongst the 'best of the rest' and clearly nowhere near the level of Fury or Usyk.

I asked who he should fight other than Chisora. If the best anyone can come up with is Michael Hunter then I think that proves the point. Its a tune up fight, nothing more, albeit one that he will hype to oblivion.

Fury vs Chisora will sell tickets and do relatively ok PPV numbers. Chisora is still one of the bigger names in the UK and there is a backstory, its an easy fight to promote. Fury vs Hunter sells fuck all, most people don't know who he is.

Fury can be extremely annoying with the lifting 'fight for free' crack. But boxing is still a business. He clearly wants / needs a tune up fight and has a choice of opponents who are broadly on the same level who he would be expected to beat comfortably. Does he chose the one where he'll make millions or the one where he makes fuck all? It's a tough one...

Mind, if he takes this then doesn't take the unification I agree it will be a disgrace.

Ha'way mate, that's bollocks. He's dominated Chisora twice, it's absolutely pointless and that's before you even consider the massive gulf in talent and where they're at in their careers respectively.

Tune up for what? AJ and Usyk are fighting in two weeks. It does nowt but ruin the chances of seeing that next. Almost duck levels of opponent selection.

Like I say, I'm positive it's actually a joke. But if it turns out to be serious it just looks like blatant avoidance of bigger fights.

Fury knows he will make a load no matter who he fights next and he also knows chisora just after the cash and not so bothered about the win. An easy fight to make. Doesn't interest me personally but I think chisora shouldn't be fighting anymore anyway, he's going to end up royally fucked up and I wouldn't feel great getting into the ring with him knowing I could batter him when he's already punchy.

I don't think he'd earn well for this fight, assuming his guaranteed purses on the deal he had are now finished. It's been around 8 years since Fury slapped the shit out of him in southpaw and was having to encourage the ref to end the fight.

I think Chisora would probably still knack you marra.

Who though? The ABC rankings are nonsense but Box Rec's rankings (for example) are:

1. Fury
2. Usyk
3. Wilder
4. AJ
5. Whyte
6. Parker

7. Chisora
8. Pulev
9. Joyce
10. Hunter

Ring Magazine have:

Champion - Fury
1. Usyk
2. AJ
3. Wilder
4. Parker
5. Whyte
6. Ruiz
7. Ortiz
8. Joyce

9. Hrgovic
10. Sanchez

Have discounted those in italics as they're either fighting each other soon or have lost to Fury in the last year.

That leaves Chisora, Pulev, Hrgovic, Sanchez and Hunter  Suppose you could throw in Wallin and Dubois.

Chisora is clearly the biggest name and probably the best boxer who is actually available.
Hrgovic would beat Chisora up and Sanchez would box rings round him at this point.

They really should have done Joyce who would have took this fight over Parker and it would have been better for everyone. Joyce is like 34 so he ain't getting many shots at a title, it's an intriguing match up and it's something we haven't seen before. Fury would be a heavy favourite still but at least there's some unknown quantity to the fight.

Bakole is a better fight but he doesn't have any name value.

Fight Zhang in China, would be a ridiculously huge fight over there and they'd prob pay as much as the Arabs.

If Chisora is the best he can find it's probably an indictment of how shit the heavyweight division is.
Can we talk about the outrageous amount of Boxing on in the next 8 weeks. Should be illlegal. Never seen anything like it.

13th - Lopez v Campa
20th - AJ v Usyk
4th - Ruiz jr - Ortiz
10th - Marshall v Shields
17th - Canelo v GGG
24th - Joyce v Parker
8th - Benn v Eubank

Enough to make a grown man jizz all over his TV screen infront of his wife.
Its not that good a schedule tbh

13th - Lopez v Campa - mismatch, Lopez moving up and wanting to test the weight
20th - AJ v Usyk - great foght
4th - Ruiz jr - Ortiz - Ortiz is shot to bits
10th - Marshall v Shields - good fight
17th - Canelo v GGG - 3 years too late
24th - Joyce v Parker - good fight
8th - Benn v Eubank - all hinges on how the weight draining effects Eubank otherwise probably a mismatch due to size.

Joyce is 36 mate. Fran Warren is saying the winner of Joyce Vs Parker will fight the winner of Usyk Vs Joshua despite him obviously hoping Fury will fight the winner.

I'm not saying it's a brilliant fight mate. I'll watch it but won't pay for it. The only slightly intriegue is whether Chisora goes 12 rounds given he looks on the verge of a heart attack every fight but keeps getting back up.

The unification fight has to happen and has to be AJ/Usyk's next fight. But as you say, they fight next week. That rules them out for the rest of the year at least. Then realistically when and where does it take place? The clamour will be for Wembley but you obviously can't have an outdoor stadium fight in January or February. Saudi is an option but I'm sure none of us want that. The Carabao Cup final is at the end of February and there is an international break in March.

So realistically you're talking Spring/Summer 2023 from April onwards before the unification can happen, by which time Fury will have been inactive for a year. Facing Chisora in December doesn't delay that from happening. He can't do WWE as he's banned from America. So he either sits on his arse for the next 9 months, pisses about with a shit exhibition fight - but is there any real interest in that in the UK given it can't take place in Vegas? - or fights someone like Chisora to keep busy. I'd rather he faced an actual boxer than anything else.

That's all I'm saying - realistically the options are AJ/Usyk in Saudi in February, Chisora in December then AJ/Usyk at Wembley next summer or do fuck all then AJ/Usyk at Wembley next summer.

Have already said it's a disgrace if the unification fight doesn't happen in the next year.

By signing to fight a Chisora on the week that Usyk - AJ fight, it would ruin any chance of negotiations even starting. If he wants another fight in between fighting the winner of Usyk - AJ, before a summer fight at Wembley, wait until somebody better than the bloke he's already slapped around twice. If he was on a run of just fighting average people every 8-10 weeks to stay active, by all means fight the Chisoras of the world, but he isn't and won't.

How? There's absolutely nothing stopping them negotiating the unification in the meantime. The first Wilder fight was all but signed before he stepped foot in the ring with Pianeta for starters.

Anyway, Bob Arum has said it's not happening and they're waiting for the AJ Usyk winner, so that's that.

Unification won’t happen next as either AJ/ Usyk will have to fight a mandatory. Unification would be this time next year when who knows what fury’s upto then.
