Las Vegas

If your wandering around buy your drink in the 7/11's on the strip and that.

$2 beers rather than getting them at the bar for $5-8

You can get free ones but your not going to enjoy vegas siting clicking free drinks from the slots.

Right then lads, lasses and gender neutral humans, i'm going to Vegas for four nights in a couple of weeks. How much spending money d'ya reckon i'll need? Any suggestions for decent places to eat and whatnot?

Thanks in advance.

Been twice before (7days and 10days) and there for another 7 days in October.

$300 a day minimum, use the discount stalls for cheaper show tickets, try to avoid buying drinks in casinos on the strip outside of happy hour prices. Even gambling $1 on a slot, if you catch the cocktail waitresses eye you will get a free drink off $1, tip well and she will return often with free drinks. Blondies in PH is decent happy hour. Irish Bar in NYNY is canny as well.

Chinese in PH is lovely food and reasonable. Food courts if you want cheap food. Bellagio Buffet probs the best on the strip imo, avoid the PH buffet.

Make sure you spend 1 night down fremont street. Brilliant entertainment and cheap booze (and super strong - almost half half with sprits!). If you want a decent meal down there try Tony Romas but i would also recommend heart attack grill for the entertainment factor and to say you've been (google it if not heard).

Canyon obv if you all want to do it, i used papillon.com, booked before we went and everything went smoothly on the day.

Obv depending on how often and big you gamble then the daily amount you need varies massively but make sure you set a daily budget and stick to it. One of my mates blew a decent chunk of his spending money early on and although we all chipped in a bit for him he didnt enjoy himself half as much as the rest of us.

Cheers mate, that's helpful on the cost of beers. We're staying at the Cosmopolitan and get breakfast included.
Cosmopolitan buffet Is ok, but Ask how long you will wait to be seated. They'll take your money first, then stick you in a queue. The queue may look reasonable but with only 5 people in front of us still took more than half an hour to get seated

Try the stratosphere revolving restaurant. That's nice bait, and not as expensive as it seems. Book through 'ticketss4tonught' Stalls and you'll get a few quid off

Go see one of the cirque du soliue shows, the Beatles or Michael jackson

Am there now been here 3 weeks got another 3 to go. I don't go anywhere near strip, best steakhouse for me, "silverado" at Southpoint casino. Best Chinese "mr woo" in China town. Best place for good cheap beer "Ellis island" has its own micro brewery.

As part of my on going 40th celebrations it turns out we are heading here in a couple of weeks. Haven't been for nearly 10 years. Any recommendations for things to do/see? Cheers.

Edit: Noticed the resort tax or whatever you call it has rocketed up somewhat. f***ing scandalous.

Penn and Teller at the Rio are canny like.
Also try this place for a slurp. Just off the strip at Flamingo - $2 a bottle!!

I always jump in here when I'm in Vegas. It's about 100m from the strip so easy to walk to. The $2 beer is true, but they also do long happy hours when it's just $1 a bottle. I sh*t you not. You can struggle for seats during the day, but you should be alright. It's nice and quiet too compared to the strip so it's decent to spend a couple of hours in. It's quite popular with the "locals" too so go there at night if you fancy meeting some interesting characters. I watched two hookers fighting over some bloke the last time I was there. Class.

slip a $20/50 dollar note per person in your passports at check in and you will find that sometimes this gets waived (make sure you hide it in there ask if they can do anything with resort fees as you hand it in) i found that younger desk clerks are the best for this

everything you need for vegas is here

I thought it got paid at the hotel?

yes thats what i am saying, when you check in to the hotel slip a $note in your passport and ask if the check in clerk can do anything with the resort fees

they sometimes waive them if the tip is decent or hand you the $note back but its worth a try

tell them its your 40th and a surprise etc and they may upgrade you as well

$1.5k if you want to do it properly (without going mental). If you’re doing shows add another $600
