Las Vegas

Hire a car and go to hoover dam.
You can get a convertible from the airport (on Hotwire) for like $20 a day. It’s only a small drive. Don’t waste your time by a pool. Get some cans at the 7/11 and walk up and down the strip, it’ll cost pennies and there’s plenty to look and and plenty of street entertainment. Unless you’re not arsed about the cost as drinks cost a fortune in the hotels (unless your gambling).
What hotel ya staying at?
Was gonna hire a car to the grand canyon but it looks like a 4 hour drive each way. Might be a shout if the Hoover dam is closer mind. Yeah, we'll probs just have a good wander up and down the strip, not much gambling I would have thought. The bars mentioned earlier sound a good shout tho. Might be stopping at New York but not confirmed yet. There was a Mexican type bar down near the shopping mall we were gonna have a few drinks in if it's still there aswell.

Aye. Shitty owld 747, that they have been saying they are going to change for the last 5 years and it’s still going ha.

I’ll have a look cheers , March is a bit too early for us - well for my sun worshipping mate but might have some decent deals for May like this year without waiting til Jan sales

Yeah we stopped in the MGM Signature opposite so know it's spot on location wise. Just it's been so long so thinking things might have changed a fair bit since then. Feel free to recommend stuff tho. You have impeccable if somewhat fussy tastes iirc. X

It changes every visit , I will go through my travel diaries and send you some info. There’s a lot more around NYNY now some great sports bars into the beer park area where the arena is too. If you can be arsed look into Myvegas app and Facebook saved us a fortune over the years but it’s a bit tieing having to play the app daily. Last trip we stayed at Cosmo with a terrace which was class having some outdoor space if you can find a reasonable deal

I prefer drinking down the bottom end. New York New York, Luxor, MGM etc.

It’ll take around 6 hours to drive to the sky walk part of the Grand Canyon. Plus the road is f***ing shit  it doesn’t cost that much to get a flight there. It’ll include lunch and you’ll fly over hoover dam. If you go at the right time you could end up flying back over the strip when the suns going down, it looks pretty mint

My favourite hotel is the south point. They offer shuttles to the strip for like $2. It’s cheap because it’s off the strip, but it’s a stunning place and worth it.
There’s loads to do there too, if you just want a lazy day. Theres a cinema ($5 Tuesday) and a bowling alley ($1 lanes after 10pm) the swimming pool is f***ing freezing like so avoid that

I went to the Grand Canyon in a helicopter, few years ago now,but my sister went in the plane one and I think mine was much better when we compared.

To me at the time,it's probably a lot more now,I was like I'd rather just pay 250 quid and do it properly, than 100 quid or something and only fly over.

I've driven to the Hover Dam and that was canny.

Sit at one of the slots, put $20 in and occasionally gamble $1 (I usually do it on the roulette machines betting red or black), as you’re gambling you can then get a beer for $1 (tip to the waitress). If you’re cautious, after a few beers you can withdraw your $20 and basically had beer at a $1 per pint.

If you’re there over a weekend, it’s well worth a trip down to Fremont St, cheaper beer, live music and the atmosphere can be amazing. The ceiling show is well worth seeing too.

THIS
I have a time share at the Grand View next door to The South Point , ( heated pool ) ,been going for 14yrs, am off early september for 6 weeks , great steakhouse and italian "Silverado and Don Vitos" , most nights am in the bar right across the strip from SP , "boulevard bar and grill" , local haunt , good bait and beer , has all the sports etc.
If your gambling in the SP join players club and at the end of your stay pop into the casino host office and ask em to look at your bill, we usually spend the last week of our stay at the SP , they comp the whole bill, even if you dont gamble a lot they will usually comp a few days.

Looser slots there as well.

Monte Carlo is spot on too, great location, and price, links to the Aria next door, where you get the best cocktails, as mentioned play the slots or the video poker at the bar, tip well and you will get looked after. Little casino just down from Harrahs, next to Best Western hotel, called Casino Royal $1 beers, ended up here quite a bit if we fancied a decent slurp, which was most days!

The chinese in PH is called Changs and as previously mentioned is spot on, Denny's ideal for breakfasts, when downtown get yourself to Hogs and Heffers bar, its on way to the mob musuem (dont go to that like as its shite).

Premium outelt stores north, has all the designer shops, the Ralph Lauren stuff is around half price compared to here.

Sign up for Uber and Lyft to save money on taxis.

There's people walking the strip giving cards out to get about $10 off your first few trips. If everyone signs up to both, you don't need to pay for most taxi's you get.

Just remember they don't pull up in the usual taxi rank in a casio - they have their own pick up points

Closed down a while ago.. now the MGM Park. Last I checked, it was open, but some of the restaurants inside weren't open.

Didnt close down marra, was getting refurbed, was always owned by MGM, mates stopped there a couple of months ago. and said it was all just about completed.

Edit: agree with Uber too, half the price of taxis.
