Lakes or Yorkshire Dales?

What’s the best one? Done Pateley Bridge and Reeth recently, was planning Grassington for one day next week.

did Pateley Bridge and Grassington last september, enjoyed the former but thought Grassington had much more about it, stayed in an air bnb for 3 nights . Great walk along river there to Burnsall and back .

Had a couple of days last week looking about both Swaledale and Wensleydale. Loved it, as I hadn't been since I was a kid. The missus wanted to go that farm on the telly - the one with the bird with all the kids. By the way she's quite fit - the bird with the kids not the missus

What’s the best one? Done Pateley Bridge and Reeth recently, was planning Grassington for one day next week.

All good.. Burnsall is a very small village with a pub and hotel set round a lovely green and little bridge.
Kettlewell is further upstream on the Wharfe and has more pubs and shops and hills above it.
Chessington is further downstream and whilst by the river it's a much larger village where the cobbled street and square are the main feature not the river

However I’d argue in normal times I’d prefer the lakes, simply more to do in my experience like.

There is in nearby villages but not at the lake.
