Fuck off man you prat he’s played football at the highest level I’m sure he knows a good player when he sees one what qualification do you need to recognise a good player????

:lol::lol:

So because he has played football at the highest level that makes him qualified

Why don't we appoint Paul Ince as our DOF then? Or Shaka Hislop? Or Thomas Brolin?

f***ing hell mate

so literally any former top flight player in your opinion is qualified :lol::lol:

I've been supportive throughout this thread, the only concern I guess is that fact he has been in one place so long, you'd think he might hve been poached

Could be a good sign that the project on offer is too good to turn down, at a club where he has naturally progressed up the ranks.

I’d love to know (purely curiosity) who the other three considered were.

Of the little I know about him I like his policy of five kids in the match day squad. Any manager unwilling to commit to that isn’t the right choice for us.

As that was one of the biggest strikes against Parky maybe the club are listening to us for a change?

What qualifications do you need to be a good scout ??? How do you know what qualifications Stefan Schwartz has?

Its not 5 kids, it's 5 academy graduates.

First season in league 1 Ross will very likely have often had this with Maja, Honeyman and Gooch being regulars and the likes of Hume, Robson, Mumba, the keeper and Watmore being involved

We aren’t far off it most games this season. Hume, Gooch, diamond, Neil can we count leadbitter?

It will be interesting to see if he’s the Sporting Director, or Technical Director working with a SD.

Either way I am very glad the club recognizes that the academy is a fundamentally integral part of our club and that we need to focus on it.
I think Dave Jones has had a big input behind the scenes regarding the new outlook on the academy.

Five quality U21's in each squad could well be the difference over the next few seasons as we try to get back, with the salary caps in League One and likely the Championship very soon. I am sure this is part of the thinking.

It doesn't take much to get even the mist critical folk on board.

Staggering how we have got to this point.
