Kompany to Bayern

Must be the trendy cap, t shirt and suit combo. Can’t be anything to do with this season’s management skills

It’s a great message that a head coach from a promoted and then relegated championship team can land a top job.
It will help our recruitment No end.
Getting promoted to prem and relegated has killed most careers

Sam Allardyce hasn’t spent a career working on a particular style that will work with players in those teams. There’s a reason he didn’t get offered that type of job.

I don’t know whether Kompany will do well at Bayern, nobody does. But people saying “Burnley relegated = shit at Bayern or doesn’t deserve Bayern” are looking at it incorrectly.

It’s about what he was trying to do with that team, and if the new club think that system will click with their players then there’s reason to think it’s a good appointment

Neither has Kompany.

He must be about the last name on their 'shortlist'.

Yes I imagine he was low down on the list and that seems to be the case. The rest of my post is still accurate.

It works with players too. It’s about what they bring and if it’ll fit with your team, not necessarily their work in their current team

Can’t get my head around this at all and thought it was just a daft rumour. Down with a measly 24 points and straight into one of the biggest jobs in the game. Good luck to him though.

Completely different remit. Kompany’s football style may well be ideal for Munich. I don’t think last season at Burnley is particularly relevant at all.

In fairness he will probably do ok at Bayern, makes it a lot easier having world class players, being the biggest club in Germany by a distance and no doubt a decent influx of new players coming in this summer.
Test will be how he does in next yrs champs league I guess
Tuchel probably thought this

They’ve won something like 30 of the last 45 German titles they’ll buy their way outta trouble. Even when dortmund looked like they may be a bit of a rival going forward they just enticed lewandoski there and went back to winning ways.
Not much in life can be guaranteed but Bayern winning the title more times than not is one of them

I thought appointing a new, manager took over 100 days??
....then you have to interview a set number of people from different backgrounds etc, as we have been told in the past iirc...how irresponsible and short sighted are these clubs that just go out and get a new manager in straight away, it'll never catch on.

Only when, like us, you have a continuously updated list of potential manager candidates ready to take over at a moment’s notice because coaches can leave at any point. I’m just glad we have people in charge who do planning that well.

Imagine if you’d been in a coma for a year, you wake up and seen Kompany is the new Bayern manager, you’d think bloody hell Burnley must’ve had a very good season, must’ve got them in Europe at least 😂
I'd wonder if I was still in the coma or on some seriously strong stuff
