Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

I find the tone of your posts condescending deluded and entitled, shit happens
"Pot, meet kettle"

"Kettle, this is pot"
It was always Autumn of 2025 marra.
You've plucked this "summer" completion thing out of thin air.
The main span was only lifted into position in late September last year from the barge by the strand jacks.
It had to be welded according to procedure, inside and out with all of the weather constraints that accompanied it for starters.
The inside fabrication and other installation work would have been carried out according to safety regulations as the whole structure would have then been classed as an "enclosed space". All these things take time.
Only now are the sea fastenings being removed by the work crew on the mobile gantry.
All planned, and executed within a designated time frame.
The M&E has progressed in the last 3 weeks but the surfacing appears to have gone backwards.

Somebody's goolies are going to be in a sling.

1.55pm you were leaving it for now you said.

Didn't take long for you to come back.

Obsessed?
Yeah, and I did leave it at that time.

Some people simply don’t like being reminded of the truth.

Obsessed? No. Frustrated at the pearl-clutching that has come out from a small number of posters today after simply highlighting facts? A little, but I’ll be okay.

This had been posted previously but almost completely ignored by certain parties.
A lot of work is going on that is not seen and the project is progressing
The bridge will open when it is ready, hopefully that day is not too far away.
Arbitrary dates suggested by people with no detailed knowledge of what is going on adds nothing of any value to our knowledge and merely serves to promote meaningless drivel.
As stated previously, the final 10% of any project causes 90%of the hassle, and we are very definitely at that stage.
I look forward to the opening of the bridge and the benefits that it will bring.
Have a good day everyone.

^^ common sense

I’m hoping it’s open by December personally so we can flit between the town and sheepfolds at Christmas and around derby day.

When the rugby was on me and the missus must have went back and forth over the new bridge about 3 or 4 times. Cannot stress how much more convenient it is using that than going all the way to wearmouth to cross.

Really opens up “over the water” for me.

Patience and then enjoy the hell out of it when it opens.

We were planning our Christmas Day/Night out at the weekend and that is our current planning. Start at The Sheepfolds and have a bit bait then move into town.
