Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

You're right, it's not. But you're making it a lot more complicated than what it is
I really don’t think I am.

The project is late and some people are trying to re-write history so that the problem isn’t obvious.

I’m going to leave this for now as I really don’t think there’s anything else to add.

Have a good afternoon.

I don't live round Sunderland anymore so you're much better placed than I am.

I spoke with the security at Sheepfolds end who advised that the project appeared to have slowed to the point of a virtual stop.

As I said, there appeared to be less than a weeks work on a construction site of this type IMHO. Are the cherry pickers currently on the underside or are they working on lighting of some sort?

I'm up there again this afternoon so will take another look.

And you are saying what there bub?
There’s an update on the contractors LinkedIn page.

Well, it’s not ‘Summer’ anymore, is it?

Aren’t you employed by the Council? (Apologies if I’ve got you confused with someone else).
It was always Autumn of 2025 marra.
You've plucked this "summer" completion thing out of thin air.
The main span was only lifted into position in late September last year from the barge by the strand jacks.
It had to be welded according to procedure, inside and out with all of the weather constraints that accompanied it for starters.
The inside fabrication and other installation work would have been carried out according to safety regulations as the whole structure would have then been classed as an "enclosed space". All these things take time.
Only now are the sea fastenings being removed by the work crew on the mobile gantry.
All planned, and executed within a designated time frame.

Stop asking if people are employed by the council man no one here is we just all think you are daft
Who do you think you are?

It’s highly relevant if someone has a personal stake in the project / the client.

Some posters on here will never have a bad word said about the council and just pile on anyone murmuring the slightest challenge. (Equally, some others would never concede that the council had done something well). It’s incredibly childish and banal - as I find the tone of your posts.

I honestly don’t think that’s correct marra.

It was announced as being due to be complete by Summer 2025 when it was confirmed in 2023. I’ve covered that and given an example earlier in this thread.

Perhaps that was an error in communication, but it was the public story.

I can live with that.
