Jofra Archer

As a batter he's become nothing more than a slogger from all his 20/20 games.

Butcher made a great point on the wisden podcast, said the 3 key things Archer had in 2019 were
1) could land the ball consistently just back of a length
2) could land a yorker consistently
3) could bowl a slower ball with no change in action
2025 version can't do any of those, and the theory is its a change in action to protect the elbow.

FWIW I think he plays a test against India, 2 tests if the 1st goes well but as I said in an earlier post, he's a shadow of the 2019 bowler
100% correct.

His fault or the ECB's for not reaching his potential?

FFS man. What is the point of giving him an all format central contract, when he's constantly injured? Surely, that money is best invested elsewhere?

I have no problem in him maximising his coin, but you'd think his priority now would be getting fit and playing for England and Sussex. Shambles.

I love the lad and I hope he’s back in the England side for Edgbaston (maybe the third Test would be more realistic), but I’ve found the reporting of his Sussex comeback so annoyingly over the top.

They’ve shown coverage of him bowling on the Test broadcast, the BBC sent a reporter to CLS to write an entire article on his bowling - yet they don’t bother sending anyone to any county game anymore. There’s a really good game of county cricket ongoing this week at CLS, in fact, there’s some really good cricket going on in more or less every single county game this week and yet as far as the media are concerned it doesn’t exist. This obviously ties into the utter contempt with which they all hold the county game, which is a disgrace when you consider that if it weren’t for the county game there wouldn’t be a bloody national team!

I agree with the post above. A waste of BBC money to send someone specifically to report on this. I'm sure the BBC comms people that were already here could have done what Matt Henry did. His report on the fitness of Archer faiiled to mention his inter-over chair sitting.

Obsession with him is unhealthy. But I suppose we are just desperate for some bowler to help this inexperienced attack bar woakes
