Jofra Archer

Could you make an argument for looking into why the likes of Jimmy and Broady are never injured? Even looking further afield at Bumrah, Brett Lee, Mcgrath and now even Cummins by and large never got or get injured
Cummins used to be a bit of a sick note didn’t he in his younger days?

I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure bumrah is always injured aswell

Not a chance the lad plays test cricket again, not even sure he will play 1st class cricket again of any kind.
Whatever operation he had clearly hasnt worked, the lad is struggling to bowl 4 overs every couple days.

Absolute shame for him and England.

Desperately sad for the lad himself!

What is it with these fast bowlers?
I know I sound like me Garanda but Freddie Trueman and company bowled 1000 overs a season.

Bowling brilliantly tonight.
I know he's been practically bowling at home, but I've been impressed with his cricket this tour.

Not going to get ahead of myself but it would be nice to have a fully fit Archer in the next Ashes.

It's nice to hear he's been bringing on Saqib Mahmood too. Formed a bit of a friendship during their rehab process together.

Mahmood who got left out of the 29 contracts

Impossible to say really if fit and firing then absolutely yes.

If not then no

Do we risk selecting him and risk him breaking down mid series god knows

I mean you can't blame him maximising his career earnings especially as he's made of glass.

But it's an international career of what ifs for me.

Started like a house on fire but was over bowled a tad. Never really recovered from that first serious layoff really.

On top of that his batting went to shit. He wasn't the best lower order batter but at least he could clear the boundary from time to time. Now every time I see him bat, I see a rabbit.

As a batter he's become nothing more than a slogger from all his 20/20 games.

Butcher made a great point on the wisden podcast, said the 3 key things Archer had in 2019 were
1) could land the ball consistently just back of a length
2) could land a yorker consistently
3) could bowl a slower ball with no change in action
2025 version can't do any of those, and the theory is its a change in action to protect the elbow.

FWIW I think he plays a test against India, 2 tests if the 1st goes well but as I said in an earlier post, he's a shadow of the 2019 bowler
