Jofra Archer

Get it postponed

This. We're looking good for a 5-0 thumping without Stokes or him, alongside the car-crash of a batting line-up.

The Stokes thing is a more serious point. They are demanding too much mentally of cricketers to put them in a secure bubble for four months - that's not right. Can the ashes, until its bubble-free. There'll be a few more like Stokes who feel they can't go on if they proceed. It's not right.

Agreed

Puts massive pressure on Wood’s fitness now mine, especially with Olly Stone injured too.
Yeah true. Might mean he gets a fairer crack at the whip, mind, then again they’ll probably just have Curran and Overton bowling military medium and then wonder why the Aussies are 500-5.

Almost as if the selection is predictable isn’t it

With respect, personally think this is utter bollocks.
Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Wood is quicker despite the hype that surrounds Archer and I’ve just always been left so disappointed and unerwhelmed by Archer in Test cricket. Couple of spells against the Aussies two years ago were sensational, but unfortunately it seems like the norm is where he just shuffles in and bowls 82mph and that’s no use to anyone.

Get the sense that Lords was his peak in regards to pace with all the hype and adrenalin, Headingley were he got into a rhythm and bowled nice and full in perfect seam bowling conditions and since then has found bowling quick too tough on his body (and been bowled into injury by Root no doubt)

I know he's a local hero, but I haven't in all honesty seen anything from Wood at test level. He's looked as ordinary as his stats say he is.

Archer, aye, has underwhelmed after that incredible Ashes debut. He's a better white ball bowler than Wood for me.

Both, perhaps unsurprisingly, are better with the white ball.
