No oil in the pan, oil the meat - very very lightly, as said get it to room temperature, also make sure you rest it on a warm plate. I wouldnt season just so you can taste the meat, if you need to season do it after you have tried it.

Don't forget the griddle pan, aesthetically pleasing and all that.

Just do it medium on a medium heat with medium herbs.
No need to be all manly about it!

Arse wiped
Raw
Put shark on it
Set it alight
Then eat it whilst watching a programme on crocodiles.
Then smoke a benson and hedges.
