Will hopefully be allowed to bring in players to fit that philosophy. Can’t see Cattermole etc being able to adapt to that style of play.

Agreed. IMHO Poyet showed that you need about 6 players regularly starting who make the system work. At least to start with, eventually they all need to suit the style but that won't happen overnight.

Unfortunately for Poyet he lost all the players who made his system work at the end of the escape season and the replacements weren't up to it.

As I did with Coleman and Grayson, any of the players not on board, if the manager wants to peddle them or name and shame I will fully support.
It is those twats that has put us in this mess and I do not like them for it but if they are not happy, fuck off and bleed another club dry

All those players on board, lets start a new chapter with what seems a very decent manager

Exactly

I liked Poyet, tried to implement a possession based philosophy but had to try and get the likes of O’Shea & Cattermole to do it - those two and others aren’t suited to that style at all.

He managed it with Alonso, Borini, Mannone, Ki, Colback and (to be fair to him) Bardsley which meant more than half of the starting XI were comfortable keeping the ball. He lost all but Mannone that summer, and the replacements were Rodwell, PVA, Bridcutt, Gomez, Jones and Buckley.

Honestly, I think he's got something special. In a year's time, with hindsight, if you're not all totally delighted with his appointment, I'd be stunned.

We've had managers who've achieved more than he has for us in recent years and there was never this amount of hype over any of them. He very quickly become a not-very-well-kept secret within football. I realise he may not have made it onto many of your radars, but honestly, he's a good guy.
Hope he is the new sir Alex mate. Thanks for your input.

Yes mate, I am aware I was literally the first person to break this information.
