If your pining for Jack Clarke not Oscar Bobb then you really aren’t understanding the level we are now at.
Id rather have Bobb like. This thread is from a couple of months ago.

This ^ bizarre thing to say tbhAbsolutely nothing in his career suggests hes better than Adingra and hes 2 year older.
100%, he’s not good enough at this levelI think KLD has raised the standard of player at Sunderland… I know the romantics on this board love an old name but SAFC have moved on from that level, imo!
he’s barely getting a game in the championship. There’s nothing to suggest he’d do well here. If he’d not played for us before he’d not get a mention.I think he would do well here, not pining for him, I just don't have bitter ex syndrome like many.
You never turn the clock back.. what in the past stays there.I wouldn't have him back largely because he couldn't wait to get away. Was looking for a move a year before he went but was persuaded to give it another year. Think we can do better now.
Ipswich would struggle to get their money back given that he's a bit part player for them.
Because their manager never even wanted him, or plays a formation that works for him.he’s barely getting a game in the championship. There’s nothing to suggest he’d do well here. If he’d not played for us before he’d not get a mention.
The difference between Clarke and Mundle is that Mundle has real pace, which is essential unless a player has exceptional skill like Messi. I think this is the real reason Clarke struggled in the PL.He's not better than Mundle, especially at the defensive side of things.
Maybe, but we all know some players can raise their game especially in a system that suits them. Ballard and Hume have improved massively since the step up and I reckon that JC would have also made it if he'd decided to stay. Matters not, we'll be signing Jeremy Doku or Oscar Bobb next and we aren't anywhere near the Championship. When Clarke was flying in our championship team I would say yes, but with Clarke now 25 years old and Mundle still only 22 I would say Mundle will come out on top.
His work rate was fine but Mundle is stronger and more aggressiveClarke’s work rate for us was exceptional.
Jack clarke will never make it in the prem, if he had pace he's be a prem footballerMaybe, but we all know some players can raise their game especially in a system that suits them. Like a fighter who's stuck between two weight classes. An in-betweener.Didn’t score a goal for Ipswich in the Prem, he’s not good enough although a great player he’s one of them falls into the not good enough category and the value for money isn’t great as well
In hindsight, I agree. Two games into the season, I wouldn’t have had that optimismWe’d also probably have given automatics a way higher shot with him in the side. He was literally one of the best players in the division playing at the top of his game here. I really think we’d have pushed the top three a lot harder with him in the squad. It made zero sense other than to fatten his and his agents bank balance. We all knew they’d come back down it wasn’t even in question. Now he barely gets a good run and hasn’t played to his strengths in his entire time there. Stupid move for the lad always was.
