Jack Clarke

Exactly the point is if Povenda isn’t a left winger then neither is Clarke. Of course Povenda can play either wing just as Clarke could
Clarke only played on the left for us.

We play with inverted wingers, Poveda is left footed, he won't be playing on the left unless we change our style of play.

It isn’t totally different. I’m not disputing that that sale worked out well for us, I’m arguing the fact that many said it would result in us upgrading our recruitment. Instead we seemingly spaffed it on players like Hjelde, Rusyn etc.
Stewart was in the final year of his contract and wasn’t renewing, whilst recovering from a big injury. Clarke has 2 years left and has been our stand out player for the past god knows how long. Bizarre reason to sell him.

Totally agree with your point though, spunked the stewart money on absolute shite. Hopefully the same doesn’t happen again, not getting my hopes up though.

Hard to believe Clarke is happy to leave for a club who realistically are dead certs to be relegated. Ipswich will be back in the Championship next season so where’s the progression for him?

He must have a say in his future he’s not just a commodity to be traded, he owns the rights to his own intellectual property ( him in effect ). He has a contract so he could refuse and sit on the bench if he wanted even though we know that wouldn’t happen as he’s the best player at the club.

If he goes then that raises questions about his ambition or his financial ambition.

Ipswich are capable of staying up tbh.

His agent is the biggest culprit in all of this, he's been lurking about the AoL all pre-season posting on X his whereabouts, he's very more than likely verbally agreed a massive wage rise at Ipswich which has turned Clarke's head and made him request the trasnfer.

I don’t think this is a good deal for Jack Clarke as Ipswich will probably be relegated this season or for Sunderland as surely he’s worth more than figures quoted. The Stewart Money was not reinvested in a decent replacement so I’ve little confidence the money will be spent wisely this time.
It is a good deal for Clarke. He now has an opportunity at the Premier League. Which he deserves. Even if Ipswich are relegated he will be in a very strong championship team (much stronger than we will be). Also he could impress and another premier league club could come in for him if Ipswich are relegated. The only losers in this are us. The fee is pathetic.

Apparently hes gutted we’ve accepted the offer, and is feeling like his hands being forced now
 Classic attempt to switch the blame for his leaving to the club, to stay sweet with our fans. “I’m being forced into signing this multi-million pound contract, i tells you.”

There's no progress at this club. We're a rank average Championship team and that's being generous.

I don't blame him for wanting to leave, we'll be a League One team again before long.
