Jack Clarke

Criminal decision letting him leave now like. No centre forwards and the fact we are even considering letting our best attacking threat leave for a derisory sum while risking it once again on untested foreign players is comical.

Wish we could transfer list Speakman instead. See if anyone wants to offer £100 for him
Where has it been said we're even considering it?

Could easily be that the crop botherers offered £15m + add-ons and the club said, absolutely not at that price. You know what the minimum is, so do you want to negotiate and they've said, yes. Can't really blame them for trying their luck, but I'd imagine a lot of other clubs would just flat reject a derisory offer like that.

Not to have a pop but haway man Ipswich they were league wan what 18 months ago something I’m reminded on here we should remember we were two years ago. They’ll be back down barring some absolute miracle so he’d be back in the championship in 12 months. It seems like a silly move just chasing a premier league move regardless of how long it’ll actually last. He seems level headed you’d hope he’d think more of himself than Ipswich like.

I’d want £30m, how much did Somerville go for?
BBC reckon £25m + add ons, Transfermarkt reckons 30million euros (what's that, £27m?). I don't think we'd get as much as Leeds did for Summerville, he's a year younger and, more importantly, he's shown he can perform at a decent level in the prem which probably adds a bit. We should definitely be looking at £20m before add ons at the absolute minimum.

So we should just blow our brains out then? Spend loads and never sell a player as it will harm progression, it isn't how life or football works - everything is for sale if the price is right.

How do you know the club are barely arsed to the bridge gap? Are you Biff from Back to the future and know all future sports scores?
Who said that like?

There is alot of middle ground between spending nothing/sell to buy and looking to improve weak spots before waiting for a player sale to fund it.

This is a football club who said they'd 'plod on' with over 3 months of the season left. They believe in their plan and there's certainly no rush.

Let's just see what happens. If he does go for 15+5m then nobody will say its a good price and if they do its lying to themselves.

It will be down to kld to decide to sell for a set value, not speakman who will only be a person to offer advice

If anyone thinks that's a reasonable fee they need their head looking at
I agree, and the amount we paid for him is completely unrelated to what we sell him for.
If he's a 25m player and we sell him for 20m, it doesn't matter if we paid 1m, 5m or 10m.

Contracts on offer also come into it however. And if they offer significant sums over a long period of time, players will strike while the irons hot

We should hire our own shit stirring agent to combat Harte’s leaks, to dissuade people from signing Clarke:

Report correct – Jack Clarke reportedly kicked door in of training ground cafe, pulled out his cock, and started to helicopter it whilst screaming “I’m not f***ing leaving”. Reports suggest the 23-year old then slapped his cock vigorously against his upper leg before shouting “Sunderland til I thigh”, leaving some members of club enthused, but also bewildered.

You did, we are making a loss at the moment and you want to reinvest all transfer budgets back in to transfers. Therefore, we will continue to make a loss - there has to be a level of reinvestment obviously, but we can't be blinded by transfer fees being the be all and end all.

Both Brighton and Brentford, got promoted on a selling structure in which they made a net profit from transfer fees but enhanced other areas of their operation for a push i.e. contract enhancements etc..
