Jack Clarke

I’m not saying we hold him to Randall, I’m saying we get what he’s worth from Ipswich. If they are prepared to pay his worth (£30m) then he can speak to them and sign them.

We aren’t a charity, giving our players away for nowt because it’s the nice thing to do
Yeah, but unfortunately, the demand for the lad was far from what a lot of people think- there was only one bidder in the auction.

By your method, he would be with us for the next 2 years, earning a quarter of what he had been offered.

I’d loved to have kept the lad but as someone else has just said, I wish he’d got to a club with more potential.

Are you f***ing mad?!

He has openly said he loves playing here, look at his performance last week, he isn’t the type to throw a hiss and down tools.

And it wouldn’t dissuade any player from coming here if we agree to sell them when a reasonable bid come in.

£15m is an utter f***ing pisstake.
It makes no odds to us as fans what they get really….as it won’t be going on big money signings. If they now take someone like Mundle and turn him into a 15m player then I’ll start to believe this model can work.

Honestly my overriding emotion is I wish he'd done better. He deserves more than Ipswich. What's he going to get? 36 premier league games then be back where he is now? You look at the players who've gone to Palace from the Championship and advanced their careers, Clarke is on a similar level. I'm not saying Ipswich are nailed on for relegation, but at the same time the odds on us taking him back as we cross paths in 12 months isn't zero.
I said the same last year when he was linked with Burnley, but for Clarke he’s guaranteed to start most weeks at Ipswich worst case is he ends up back where we are now next season nothing for him to lose really. Just have to hope the reported figures are a few million off

The fee seems low but it makes you wonder why a few more teams weren't sniffing about. It's the kind of deal that was ripe for a more established Premier League club to hijack last minute.

You’re right.

What we should have done is turn down the offer and force the lad (who wants the move) to continue playing for us under duress as his value drops as the remainder of his contract expires.

It would also really encourage other young talent to join us once they saw how we treated our players.

KLD Out!
This is nonsense

A well respected poster and ITK ( @Freddie the Greek ) has confirmed that Clarke was asked to leave by the club and was in tears as he cleared out his locker.

Not sure of the details but FTG is clued up and not a bs merchant
He wouldn’t have had to leave if he accepted a new contract under our pay structure. We’ve extend lots of of our best players’ deals. He and his agent want more than we were willing to pay, obviously.
