Jack Clarke

While drying his eyes with £50 notes I assume?
He can afford bespoke £75 notes now marra
He wouldn’t have had to leave if he accepted a new contract under our pay structure. We’ve extend lots of of our best players’ deals. He and his agent want more than we were willing to pay, obviously.
The inference here is we wanted to sell

Yeah, but unfortunately, the demand for the lad was far from what a lot of people think- there was only one bidder in the auction.

By your method, he would be with us for the next 2 years, earning a quarter of what he had been offered.

I’d loved to have kept the lad but as someone else has just said, I wish he’d got to a club with more potential.
......and then leave for £0 rather than £15m

Are you f***ing mad?!

He has openly said he loves playing here, look at his performance last week, he isn’t the type to throw a hiss and down tools.

And it wouldn’t dissuade any player from coming here if we agree to sell them when a reasonable bid come in.

£15m is an utter f***ing pisstake.
It really isn't though is it?

Not many clubs - and no 'big' clubs - were anywhere near interested in him

I think some see our own players through rose-tinted specs a bit - he's a good player, but nowhere near as good as some think he is

Summerville went for 25 million, and he’s younger, premier league experienced and better overall
