Jack Clarke

Gotta say I’m utterly furious at this mind. He still has 2 years left on his contract. What the fuck are we accepting a derisory offer like £15m for?!

We could only be considering offers of double that.
You’re right.

What we should have done is turn down the offer and force the lad (who wants the move) to continue playing for us under duress as his value drops as the remainder of his contract expires.

It would also really encourage other young talent to join us once they saw how we treated our players.

KLD Out!

Haway Chris.

So random Sunderland fans and posters all over this board knew weeks if not months in advance what was going on, but our owner knew nothing about it?
Nobody knew the bar was being decked out in black and white 'til it was done and viral.

Them getting the North Stand and with it the BCB was inevitable and not dissimilar to allocations at other grounds in similar circumstances.

Yes they did, them being given to permission to decorate was all over in December and absolutely rubbished.

A lot of posters are a lot of humble pie that day.

Good luck to the kid, all of us here would want to play at the highest level possible, add to that the instability here then it’s no surprise he’s gone/wanted out.

Well, either way, I'm over it. It was a mistake. The club acknowledged it as much. What else can they do? Move on.

Davison's gone - I think we can safely assume he carried the can.

Not true it was all over the southstand a week or more before that we’d given the the bcb and okd them to dress it in b&w stuff. He knew about it man let’s not play dafties, if he didn’t I’m worried he’s even more lax than I was thinking he should’ve been all over everything leading up to the first derby under his ownership. A few journalists have hinted at nothing money wise gets okd without the sign off from the owner. He knew man and fucked up, I’d have thought more of him if he just admitted he knew got it wrong and things like that wouldn’t happen again. It’s the tell of the person when they can hold their hands up admit they got something wrong rather than scramble and throw people under the bus. Shows weak character although the lads had everything handed to him on a plate all his life and probably never had to actual work or have someone tell him no so that up bringing doesn’t build any sort of character.

probably depend on contract length remaining.

totally agree £15m is way too low.
I never have an issue selling a player, but in this case it’s your best player at a low ball offer relative to the current market. You have an owner who does not spend money. You know our replacement is some 18-20 year striker no one has heard of this not only destroys the attachment of the team it also devalues the attachment the supporters have with there club. People pay money to watch favorite players when a quality player leaves for a lesser fee the product diminishes the support who in turn gets disgruntled following the club and thus our board gets toxic. I blame KLD solely responsible for building Sunderland at a snail's pace. At this rate our next generation of Sunderland supporters will diminish over time. Time is money and if destroyed at Sunderland you destroy the support long term.

Yeah but it’s being used to show how the club love to dress things up or if you want to be a cynic lie to us and think we are stupid.

Clarke is the latest in a long line of it. Just be honest it won’t kill them. KLd saying he knew nowt about it was a lie, just be honest and say you made a faux pas.

Just like Clarke, apparently now it’s all on the player pushing for a move. Be honest man, they wanted the money. The “bending” of the truth seems neverending.
