In such a high profile role, whilst discussing diversity, you'd think he'd ensure he knew the accepted terms mind. At the same time, I agree that the "coloured" vs "person of colour" distinction seems an odd one. I think it's to do with segregation when there were separate entrances to places for "coloureds" which is why it has the negative connotation whereas "person of colour" doesn't. That being said I'm sure I also heard that any mention of colour is frowned upon because it suggests all BAME people are just lumped into one group, effectively there's whites in one group and then everyone else is just "a person of colour". It can be hard to keep up with and, generally speaking, when there's no intent to cause offence, you'd think people might be able to let it slide, but like I say in his role he's not just someone off the street and should have known.

His comments about gay people making a lifestyle choice, Asians wanting to work in IT and lasses not liking the ball being kicked hard at them are worse. Add it all together and, given the position he's in, you can hardly make a case for him not losing his job. I hope they now make a bit more of a forward thinking appointment.

And you were making so much sense up to that point 😂

Aye but he's not just some owd duffer, he's the head of the F.A.

'Coloured' hasn't been an acceptable term to describe black people for a long time now for exactly the reasons you've suggested.

He's responsible for promoting equality so it's part of his job to keep on top of stuff like this.
Using "colour" for "black" is back in vogue now, which he explained.
Said being gay was a “life choice”, that women don’t like footballs being kicked at them hard, and that Asian people don’t want to play football because they’d rather work in IT.

But aye it’s PC gone mad.
Asians gone mad for PC by the sounds of it.

Why is there disproportionately so few Asians in football and disproportionately so many black people (people of colour (not coloured people)) in football? Cultural? Is he right but using clumsy language?

I saw Stan Collymore (I know) suggested Les Ferdinand, could be a decent shout

To be honest, I don't know what the requirements of the job are, but I'd like to see someone in their early 40's get it with positive ideas, rather than the next in line who's completely out of touch. I listened to Ferdinand a couple of months ago about taking the knee (or not) and he was a man who had strong thoughts on the subject and the commitment to following through. I'm not sure he'd want it mind and I'm not sure he's suitable. I would think the head of the FA should be about more than just diversity and inclusion. He's got a lot of experience though, maybe he has a lot to offer on grass roots football and where the game is headed as well.

That’s not clumsy language at all .

it’s racism .

I saw a decent piece with an interview he gave about grass roots football ( ) and thought he sounded decent and as if he genuinely cares about the pyramid. That, the fact he will obviously have a different perspective and experience in terms of inclusivity and diversity, the fact he's been involved in the game from player to director of football, I think he sounds like an intelligent bloke and a decent shout for the role if he was interested. It would also show that they as an organisation are prepared to change and accept new ideas. I mean, like yourself I'm not completely sure of the job requirements and there might be a reason why he wouldn't be suitable, but from what I imagine the role entails I think he'd be worth considering.

You hear presenter's on BBC breakfast using the term people of colour and they are still sat in their seats. And on Sky sports news too. They have wanted this bloke out for years.
I’ve no idea what you’re on about. Who are “they”? Hes been in the job for a couple of weeks ower four years. Three years ago he had to apologise to the same govt committee for his language. Maybe that’s the “they” you mean?

Even he has known he should resign since being caught having secret meetings with the “big six“ and lying about his part in them weeks ago. Both he and Parry should’ve been gone the morning after those stories broke. It’s only this parliamentary thing that stopped him resigning then.

The people at the head of football organisations need to be trustworthy and to know wrong from right. Holding secret meetings in an attempt to hand over power to the big six shows he and others aren’t. Only a fool would weep for him or them. Fuck him.

I do believe he’s useless and like the rest of the FA hierarchy not fit for purpose.
It tells you everything about the FA that he can be at the helm.
His crime is minor though if indeed he’s committed any crime at all.
He was resigning anyway because he was caught having secret meetings with the big six thus laying himself open to for the want of a better word “blackmail” (sorry, my resignations in the post). I wadnt put it past him to have hoyEd a few choice phrases around in extra time just to muddy the waters and get the racist gammon twat vote on his side. That’d draw attention away from him looking to hand English football ower to the big six. I’ll bet there was a job in it for him if he’d succeeded. Fuck him.

Ok. I’ll start again.
Do YOU agree with what he said ?
That the over representation of black people in football and under representation of Asian people in football is due to different interests of these cultural groups?

Quite possibly.

What do you think the reason for it is?

Why are so few Americans interested in football? Is it cultural? Was he right but using clumsy language?

The man's a knob and part of the FA mans' drinking club but for the life of me I cant see the difference between person of colour and coloured person.
