Genuine question to all those that are clearly in the know:-
If I was a witness to a crime on the street and was required to give a statement to the police as to what I saw and also if I could a description of the offender, how would I describe who I saw ?
You can’t give a description because you don’t know which ethnicity/gender they identify as.

No THATS what HE wants you to believe. He was gonna lose his job for going behind the FA, FL, 14 PL Clubs, 72 FL clubs and probably the PL in having clandestine meetings with the big six in an attempt to hand English Football to them. He’s a twat. Dont let him set the agenda. Don’t feel sorry for him.
Oh I don’t feel sorry for him, just thought that the reason for him resigning was a bit confused, your reasoning sounds feasible though.

The use of the term ‘coloured’ must surely be politically correct though ?? Seeing as everyone is referring to the American VP Elect as coloured ??
I think this is the point that I was in discussion with a few posters about..... poor bloke has lost his job because people choose to be offended by something that he said that clearly wasn’t being said in an offensive way at all.
You're missing the point.

It doesn't matter that it wasn't meant to be offensive.

His remarks suggest that he has no real understanding of different cultures, genders or sexual orientation.

For the head of an organisation which is supposed to be inclusive to all, that takes some doing.

Quick review of the thread tells me that the passive-aggressive, openly offensive, angry and intolerant people are those who want to tell everyone else how thick and ignorant they are for not understanding the issue.

If only I was able to find an appropriate generalisation to put them all in a single box for simplicities sake...

It'll end up backfiring. People who aren't racist will just avoid the subject and maybe the people involved as it won't be worth the hassle.

The usual suspects driving divisiveness again.

We have a big diversity charter at work. I simply refuse to get involved for these reasons.

Someone at our office was given a informal warning for saying in a meeting ‘ha’way let’s just call a spade a spade’ when referring to a the root cause of a quality issue (it was said as one department one refusing to accept the blame for something when it was clearly their fault. It’s not a racist saying as far as I’m aware but someone said it was and they felt offended by it ....... management went off on one.

Hourly.

I hear they’ve agreed the page of colour- next item in the agenda is the font of colour.

We ll get there in the end but will have been rewritten by Sunday.
Just

Just say some mush.

That’ll cover it and get you off the hook.

That's disturbing the peas. You're nicked !

He was resigning anyway because he was caught having secret meetings with the big six thus laying himself open to for the want of a better word “blackmail” (sorry, my resignations in the post). I wadnt put it past him to have hoyEd a few choice phrases around in extra time just to muddy the waters and get the racist gammon twat vote on his side. That’d draw attention away from him looking to hand English football ower to the big six. I’ll bet there was a job in it for him if he’d succeeded. Fuck him.
Aye you’re right that alone should have got him binned.

He's spot on on matters of race, has a great football brain, and is one of the few broadcasters, especially in football, who really hammers the importance of mental health and calls out practices within football that have a negative effect.
Remember the good old days when football was simply a great game? If the poor bairns can't deal with the £100K a week salary, let them go and work stacking shelves or something that wont cause such mental distress

It’s not just a generational thing, I’m still a long way off 50, and based on this thread, I can honestly say that I haven’t got a clue which terms are currently seen as acceptable or not.

I dont give a fk if i dont use today's correct terminology. I certainly dont care if i offend some liberal fkn fannies along the way.

The leftwaffe in here with their sneering comments man. The thick twats don’t seem to realise that they are in the minority.

It's embarrassing how many middle aged white blokes get so triggered by people trying to be inclusive. It's not woke, it's just the next step to equality, like when women got the vote or black people were no longer segregated in America or slaves were abolished. Middle aged white blokes were offended by those things too.

When you're absolutely seething at the things changing around you, despite how little they affect you, at least have a bit of self awareness before you start talking about snowflakes or people being offended by anything. Your outrage is hypocritical as fuck.
