Absolutely correct. Boardrooms now want to run the clubs totally. The title of manager is now Head Coach. My opinion is the top three in the prem are in that position because they have managers who run the club not just the first team, and don’t have interference. Saying that financially Palace were always going to do the Guehi deal , they cannot afford to lose 20 mill , with attendances bribing around 25kPeters aren’t bought on the whim of managers anymore and clubs have succession planning in place including managers and players coaches etc.
looks like Barry Bannon's more hirsute but mental brotherTotally agree. Will Hughes is a class player; the fact that he looks like he has a permanent illness doesn't detract from this.

I take your point, but Villa don’t fall into the category of filthy rich elite and they seem to be doing ok. They are the ones who we should be looking to emulateIt could all change quickly for us. That's the nature of the Premier League for the 13 or 14 clubs outside the filthy rich elite who will get their top players picked off, one by one, have one bad season and lose their manager.
Palace have won the only domestic trophy worth winning outside of the PL. Mission accomplished. They might be playing Brighton or Brentford in a Championship game in two or three years time. That's the nature of the beast.
A great response from Parrish that, backed him into a corner nowSounds like Parish has called his bluff saying he wants him to stay until the end of the season and make a dignified exit.
Your move Glasner![]()
This.Which is exactly what he wants to happen, clearly.
He wpuld be quality. Powerful and quick. Im realising in our system we need power not finesseThat Matete would be a canny understudy for Big Brian, we should go and get him, we do what we want these days.
Probably true. Problem as others have said is a victim of their own success, not a big enough and good enough squad to compete in Europe and maintain the level in the league25/26: Sold Eze - Bought Johnson, Pino & Canvot - lost £20m
24/25: Sold Olise & Andersen - Bought Nketiah, Lacroix, Sarr, Riad & Esse & made £8m
23/24: Zaha, Butland, Mihajlovic leave on frees - Bought Wharton, Franca, Henderson & Munoz - lose £67m
22/23: Sold no-one - Bought Doucore, Richards & Ahamada - lost £40m
On the face of it Palace actually look to be a reasonably well run club; living within their means, recognising when a player is peaking and getting value for them, reinvesting the funds.
Their squad is pretty deep for a mid table side.Probably true. Problem as others have said is a victim of their own success, not a big enough and good enough squad to compete in Europe and maintain the level in the league
Can't see Man Utd going for him, if they wanted him they could have paid up his contract before bringing Carrick In.There was talk about Man utd in the summer but that now looks ridiculous if he's trying to get out of Palace early but they've put Carrick in as a temp measure.
Guess Man U either stick with Carrick or possibly go for someone involved at the world cup
Some like RegisTheir squad is pretty deep for a mid table side.
A better manager might have gotten more out of them![]()
ShhhhhSome like Regis![]()
Mags reportedly bid £60 mill in the summer. Gone to City now for £20. If Glasner had his way, they'd get nothing. They’ve lost £15m?
That was the previous summer I think?Mags reportedly bid £60 mill in the summer. Gone to City now for £20. If Glasner had his way, they'd get nothing.
I'll put my orthopedic shoe on to help me stand correctedThat was the previous summer I think?
He was all set to go to Liverpool for £35m
