Glasner

They wont sack him or they will have to pay his compo

He will go of his own accord in the Summer and would of thought Palace will have someone lined up to replace him

Unless Palace spend in January then might persuade him to stay

I mean Will Hughes should be nowhere near any premier league club so suppose that says a lot
Hughes has been good for the managers position is untenable now

I don't blame him for being pissed off. Surely Palace could have said to Man city, yeah your bid is accepted but he will be available for talks on Monday....shouldn't have accepted the bid and allowed talks on a Friday afternoon when they had spent all week working on tactics for the Sunderland match.
Not in this window when he has 6months left. They need to get some value for him, so pointless risking anything that could put the move in doubt. Different in summer when you still have the January window in theory before the contract runs out

I dont blame him.

Imagine the uproar on here if we reached the conference league and ended up in a position where we were selling Xhaka and Mukiele in that same season. They've basically got no chance of competing now and have also managed to piss off their greatest ever manager.

"Nowt we can do about it" doesnt cut it really.

If he is abandoned how come they just bought him a £35m winger?

This.

I mean losing Eze was a blow but it was always going to happen and they've spent funds trying replacing him as with Olise before him. It would never be easy though.

As infuriating as it is with Guehi then he was having a spastication last window when when they were going to get 35m for him.

Now with less than six months left before they lose him for nowt they're getting 20m. if he actually had the long term thoughts of the club at interest he'd be planning to replace him and not crying to the media trying to save face.

We are the 5th best home team in the league. Roefs made a great safe early doors to stop Mateta and Mitchell should have scored the header.

I just wouldn't be too angry as a Sunderland fan if we were in their position yesterday.

They quite easily could have nicked a point.

His position is untenable now to be fair.
At 75 minutes of not have been annoyed but at full time I would have been. Don’t care if we had Dichio on the bench I’d be wanting the manager to throw on an attacker instead of a keeping a defender on.

It just seems like he knew he was away so fancied dropping some bombs to protect his reputation. Easy to look back but he should have walked away in the summer whereas this has probably put a few doubts in the big teams minds now.

Didnt we sell Stewart one season and Clarke a season and a half later? Isnt that pretty much our model?

Why join Palace in the first place then? Financially youre not in a position to compete long term and your job is always going to be replacing players lost to those up the food chain.

If say Mukiele was heading to the end of his contract and youd been offered 35m at the start of the season and 20m during it. Would you just let him leave for nothing? You'd get egen more criticism the season after when you were 20m+ short when trying to replace him.

Disagree. Think he decided to leave because the club didn't share his ambitions.
What’s his ambitions though and how have they changed since he joined? They were and still are a selling team who want to survive just like 14 team in the league.

He’s already said he’s leaving, he told the board last year. Spending in January or even last summer on a manager who wouldn’t commit their future seems mental. Unless they get another manager to play the same formation they’ll have the same issue as Man Utd where they have players who cost a lot but the manager doesn’t want.

Doesn't want to be there. Decided ages ago to leave while his stock was high and is panicking about his reputation now they can't win a game.

Manager in self preservation mode is horrendous for the club
Correct. I agree that the moment to sell their captain wasn't the best, but he knew he will leave. They should've sold him in the summer, I don't know if him or the hierarchy was at fault for not finding a suitable replacement in time. They lost 20m because of that.
Also he said he only had kids on the bench. No, he actually had Uche that they had an obligation to buy for £17m, he should use him more especially since they need to buy him.
Done a great job and the club let him down in a way, but the sales of Eze and Guehi were inevitable, let's be honest. There's no way we're keeping Mukiele if a big club offers £40m in his last year of contract, same with someone offering £60m for Le Fee.

Based on what? Not being fashionable enough for you?

25/26: Sold Eze - Bought Johnson, Pino & Canvot - lost £20m
24/25: Sold Olise & Andersen - Bought Nketiah, Lacroix, Sarr, Riad & Esse & made £8m
23/24: Zaha, Butland, Mihajlovic leave on frees - Bought Wharton, Franca, Henderson & Munoz - lose £67m
22/23: Sold no-one - Bought Doucore, Richards & Ahamada - lost £40m

On the face of it Palace actually look to be a reasonably well run club; living within their means, recognising when a player is peaking and getting value for them, reinvesting the funds.

Should be grateful for the 20m. Could have had a Kone to deal with. Glasner must have known he’d leave, should have sold and replaced in summer. Could have got Alderete and Mukiele and been in profit financially and no worse off on the pitch.

Palace considering sacking him according to SSN. It was a pretty explosive interview post match, doesn't seem a happy camp at all. Quite mad how quickly it has changed from the FA Cup win.
If they sack him now they give him what he wants but if they don’t they’re going to be creating a ship without a rudder situation since he doesn’t want to be there and they sold their captain
