Best not, seen a couple of gigs there and probably where the stage is it creates and awful echo, worst stadium for music until the London Stadium came along.

Seen a video from last night. Looked awful.

Most people in the seats in the Milburn Stand were so far back you could barely make him out on the side screens by the stage.

Tbf SOL is more suited to stadium gigs the way its designed, i was dragged along to Take That

Aye I didnt realise this until someone said on the other thread. Greater access for building the stage etc.

Been to 3 there...all class but Coldplay was incredible like.

Each to there own but these concerts bring in big money to Newcastle city, the buzz around the place yesterday was great, fantastic weekend for folk right in the heart of the fantastic Newcastle and he is the hottest act in the UK .Not my cup of tea as i dont like big stadium gigs.
Which is pretty much what I said. I didn’t say everybody should eat a steaming turd instead.

And the buzz factor is true it’s why we were stupid to stop them even if we made a loss as a club the thick as shit council should have subsidised it in a bout of common sense. However think some creative accounting took place to show a loss

Exactly, the tory contingent in the council wasnt happy that the council give 80k, now 80k investment for 3-4 mil worth of money generated for the city seems like a cracking investment. Surely a tory would see this more than most.

Equally people would complain about potholes, bin collections etc etc saying why should the council subsidise a multi million pound business with a billionaire owner.

I can see if from both sides. Perhaps the BID could have put money in instead.

There’s a lot more Sunderland people spend time and money in Newcastle than the other way around. Unfortunately
My daughter is one of them sadly. The shops are bigger, more choice etc. As frustrating as it is, its hard to argue really. I would just rather spend my money in Sunderland, it's my pesonal choice

And the tiny tory group railroaded the vast, braindead labour majority?
You're having a laugh.
Not saying that the conservatives would do any better but weez been in charge in the town since the early '60's?

Is it not just exactly the same as Newcastle ?
The best bit of having to suffer One Direction was walking past the queues of people waiting at St Peters as we crossed the river to get a train to Gateshead North from an empty Sunderland station.

Saying that, the OD concert was the most “fun” I’ve had at the SoL for a while. I’ve not seen us win at home for years.
