Few of us on a course at Gateshead college, arranging to have a few drinks in Gateshead after our last day next week. Anywhere decent or is it safer/wiser to head in to Newcastle?

Used to be like the Royal Albert hall on the high street, bout every three minutes. Rough as fcuk.

Could always hop in a taxi to low fell, only a mile or so, a few pubs there that are ok for a pint or 3

Walk to central pub then down to by the river bear Co on gateshead Quayside

The Metropole was done out a couple of years back and aint too bad, the Spoonies (if your thing) is surprisingly one of the better ones. The Grey Nags Head used to be canny but not been in there for a while You also have Station East and The Central (same chaps as Head of Steam) down next to the High Level Bridge which are spot on. Gateshead aint the worst place for a few scoops to be honest
