The 3300x is pretty much the 3600's baby brother, probably 2nd on all the time list of cost efficient parts, only 5-10 less fps than an i5 10400 and 15-20 less fps than a 3600, an extremely underrated chip.

I resarched parts for 2 and a half month prior to my build yesterday and the common thing I saw from retailers is they advertise below-par parts for extremely inflated prices in the hope the customers don't have a clue - The most common parts were all naff models of the I5, if you're going for an I5 then a 10400 is a must and even then you're ripping yourself off not going for the 3300X/3600, the other I5 models shouldn't even be in existance yet they sell like water to an arab in a desert.

The guy linking the 1050ti system at the top of the page gave me a good laugh, it's the exact system I replaced, and I bought that system for £390 13 years ago :D It's beyond robbery at that stage, it's borderline fruad :D
I think the 10100F is interesting. It's pretty much set the benchmark for an absolute minimum requirement to have a gaming rig of an average standard. It's not dreadful but it's not the 3600 either, its bang in the middle.

I'd held off ditching my very old Phenom 955 and finally bit the bullet and picked up a 1600AF at Easter (when they were a: still available, and b: less than £85)

then along comes the 3300x a month later, but i dont feel that bad - the 3300x is like rocking horse shit

you're kidding??

their 'best seller' for £500 is an FX8300 with a 1050TI

£500 for a secondhand badly aging pc is dreadful - next day delivery doesn't make up for that

didnt look at the cheaper onesto be fair, not the best for sure!
Some awful advice at the top of the page, no wonder the franchise cowboy companies are charging extortionate, because people are willing to pay it!

I build this today.

16gb of ram, AMD Ryzen 3600, GTX 1650 Super.

For £649.99. This beast won't be aging until the 30's

I bought a 32" inch HD gaming monitor on finance which was probably overpriced and it's actually like going to the cinemas playing games in 4k resolution

Beast?! Am I missing something here?

Is that not gonna struggle already with games at 4K? Unless you play everything on low?

Personally I think it's pointless going that cheap just keep saving till you can afford better won't last 2 mins

It won't play 4k at all. My super 2070 gets 4k 60fps with tweaks. Even on medium it can be under 60fps so a 1650 won't even be playable

I am playing GTA Online on 4k with 60fps easy. Sorry to disappoint.
Turn off anti-aliasing, ray trace shadows and filtering needs to be on x2, everything else is on maximum.

I think you probably need to check out what's bottlenecking your 2070 then worry about my issues!
GPU useage hovers around 95%
CPU useage 10%

The reason why it's capable because most games online game useCPU to render their graphics, not GPU card, the GPU is pure memory. A bit like putting petrol into your car.

Fair enough, it’s easy to overspend on this stuff. I’d be made up if I could get a starter PC for £299, and upgrade if needed.

It's a fact your graphics card plays 4k at 30 to 40 FPS at 4k. At that cost per frame just buy a console to play at 4k.

I couldn't care less if GTA online is 60fps. The standard game isn't.

Let's not forget GTA is a near ten year old game as well. Bet it doesn't run red dead 2 at 60fps

You are saying this ‘beast’ will last well into the 30’s though! Very misleading as it can’t even run today’s AAA games properly in 4K!

I’m well out of touch with PC’s these days but the statement rang alarm bells straight away! Just basing that on mine which is an i9-10940x with 128GB RAM and an 11GB 2080ti, I wouldn’t even say that will last into the 30s haha! IIRC RDR2 with everything maxed out sometimes was under 60fps.

guys (and possibly gals)

lets not turn this into a my pc is better than your pc bitchfest lest i break out my AMD Duron circa 2001 to show you true powaaa

:)

It was more just informing people reading this thread they were being given bad advice.

My pc is very middle of the road 😉

The 1650 super plays red dead 2 4k low high textures at under 30 frames.

It' isn't a 4k card at all

Too late. I broke out my £299 tiddler, got laughed at and shown a magical beast that’ll still kick it in the 2030s

These threads always go there whether it’s jobs, cars, houses or your pornstar name

It's a beast like! Love it - all virtualised stuff as well - so pretty much running multiple machines in one.

Will count on one hand how many games I will actually play on it mind, they bore me mostly

yeah, i'm not playing much myself

all i seem to do is buy new cpus, benchmark them, replace them

2650v2 arrived this morning

:)

You've gone off-track on what I said really, most online games run off their CPU's, if a certain game you list runs off a CPU I will run on 4k easy

If it runs off the GPU I will perhaps struggle, does RDR2 run off the CPU or GPU, tell me and I'll torrent it and tell the results.
I can recommend this lot: Next Day PC - Over 250 Ready To Ship Computers With Free Delivery

yes, you can get (slightly) better elsewhere maybe, but not the next day!

Errrr, are you sure about that?

I think your slow machine is messing with your memory ;)

You definitely did. And you have the nerve to keep posting in the thread. That is shameful.

Edit: RDR2 runs off the CPU as it uses the same engine as GTA5, I'd run it on 4k easy.

I recommendeda SITE, not a machine. What you buy off there is optional, ya git dafty

And forget RDR2 in 4k without turning off everything, it wont run.

There is no way, without turning eveything off/down you will "run it on 4k easy"

Windup?
