You're in for a treat if you've avoided spoilers. The end of series 3 is particularly brilliant, I'd read the books and waited years for the Mrs's reaction to that one.

He's alright, he's not one of the most talented actors on the show mind but he's definitely talented.

He's alright, he's not one of the most talented actors on the show mind but he's definitely talented.
Anyway, Joffrey is played by Brendan Gleesons son and won't be doing anymore acting after this apparently.
And for the OP (it's not a spoiler) - the most hated character is yet to come. Far far worse than Joffrey IMO.

It's about opinions, but yes there as an evil evil bastard who is heavily involved around seasons 4/5/6 and makes you like characters that you may soon despise. Welcome to GoT.
