Here are the highlights if anyone actually wants to watch what happened

Boult’s balls to Root and Stokes were unplayable but there’s also some utter shite batting in there
How many times do we have to be here with England? We have some on here defending them as though this isnt typical of them and we havent seen this 100 times before from them.

England has won 1 trophy since the 1975 world cup - 1; despite their tradition, history, training, facilities, wages they get paid et al and yet still this never ends with them. They are mentally fragile and some of the shots they have just played last night are almost pathetic. NZ then come out to bat and make it look like the batting strip at Mumbai with Tendulkar at the crease.

Someone has suggested that as its away from home that its somehow acceptable. the whole thing is a shambles, has been for years and even a bust clock is right some of the time.

We should never have been hammered as we have been off Australia and this performance once more shows the utter fragility of England, particularly its batting. I'm assuming that we will now lose by an innings? Are they now capable of showing any backbone and application at all and fighting their way back into this match or not?

Some of the shots are sunday afternoon third team stuff.

Ramprakash is suppose to be the batting coach. Now when he batted for England you could see fear in his eyes - get rid. Then get rid of Strauss and Bayliss and get some lads in, with the right attitude, who know to play.

Who would you suggest they bring in?

Welcome back OMEGA MAN and MY BOY HARRY !
He hasn't changed !
He will get banned, again, on the football forum, and return in 6 months under another name.
Thing is the rat/Johnson/Dave angel has a few problems of his own.

He also seems to forget which Id he is using from time to time with conflicting stories

Don't agree with what ever personna he is playing on the day, the abuse flows out easily

I forgot to add Augustus gloop to the rat/Johnson/Dave angel variety show.

What's the need for all these IDs?

Weird thing to say.

You carry on talking about the bowlers when the batsmen got rolled for 58
Am i not entitled to an opinion, or does every topic on this board have to be approved by you first?
No-one is disputing the batsmen failed, I also believe the selection of the bowling line up is poor, backed up by the fact NZ coasted to 175-3 under the lights when the pink ball was supposed to be doing all sorts. We failed to pick a line up with any sort of variation and are suffering as a result.

Of course you are allowed an opinion

The last bit makes no sense. If it was doing stuff under lights, you want fast medium bowlers who move it. Rather than up and down fast bowlers

Huh? What about my posts makes you think I’m an avatar for someone else?

Which other user is a Nepal cricket fan who started frequenting SMB because Jozy?

Erm......no

As the title of the video says, brilliant performance by Curtley Ambrose. I didn't see amy brilliant Kiwi bowling performances today.

The only good thing about that innings was the vast majority of people would have been in bed and missed it.

Hardly a surprise when your preparation consists of a couple of knockabouts against a bunch of third-raters.
The Kiwis' prep wasn't any different mind. We just had a tough Ashes series for prep. I think the actual problem is too many fannies.

A test series away to NZ is a good reason to post this again.

That is brilliant.

I watched our innings, perfect storm, great bowling conditions, world class swing bowling, shite shots, great catches and virtually no practice before the series
I didn't see much swing mind. Though didn't see it all (went for a shite and missed the last 5 wickets).

England don’t appear to be very good at this red ball stuff that requires a bit diligence and patience
I think Bayliss is basically a white ball bash thrash coach who cannot see beyond one day
Joe Root looks like a little boy lost at times

Just enough I thought, full length more than anything though

It’s really poor like but it’s a world class new ball bowling attack, some media talking like we are playing club bowlers

Bit simplistic but elements of truth for sure

We went for bayliss partly as he was completely different to flower, let the players take responsibility for their own game etc, that worked for a while and some have improved

Players need guidance now for sure, Flower was s brilliant coach like, we need someone of that style

Yea and a bit of movement off the pitch too.

It's a very good attack but that's no excuse, England's batsmen should be able to cope with swing and seam if anyone's can.
