Starts Thursday at 01:00.

No point suggesting a side, because it's already been picked and it'll be the same jobs for the boys fuckers in the lineup.

The state of our Test side, the end of a long winter plus the dodgy forecast make it difficult for me to get up for this. Sorry :(

Roll on the 13th April. If it's not still f***ing snowing.

I don't want to sound soft for these players who are doing something we could only dream of but Jesus this has been a long winter on the road. This New Zealand tour feels a bit much after an Ashes tour.
I know quite a few of the players have not been involved in all forms of the game but the ones that are must really feel they are on the treadmill now.

With Stokes back the side looks a lot more balanced. And there is a ton of experience there. Therefore they have to take a risk with selection

Livingstone must play ahead of Vince and Leach must play ahead of Modern.

Surely Vince won’t play

Suggestions Stokes may not be fit enough to bowl in which case he’ll be in at 5 with Malan up to 3

If he is fit to bowl I’d go:

Cook
Stoneman
Livingstone
Root
Malan
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes
Broad
Anderson

Leach could get taken apart coming straight in at Eden Park IMO, although I’d play him in Christchurch

Vaughan on his show with Tufnell on 5live stating Overton to play instead of Wood as 4th seamer. Stokes not fully fit will probably do very little bowling in this match.

Cook
Stoneman
Root (c)
Malan
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
Woakes
Overton
Broad
Anderson

Apparently

Would have liked to have seen Wood in that team. Worrying for him if they see Overton ahead of him in a 4 man seam attack

Forgot Wood was there, he’s streets ahead of Overton. Getting injured in the Ashes seems to have been a blessing in disguise for Overton if he plays

Maybe they're still doubtful about Wood's fitness .... but then why pick him for the squad?

I think getting Smith and digging in with the bat has blurred the memory of Overtons actual bowling in that series. Didn't look anything like a test bowler. Bit of a nothing cricketer at this level like C Brathwaite for the Windies. Test cricketers need to excel at a discipline not just be okay at everything

He was slagging off Stoneman saying he doesn't prepare properly

really poor comments, whether Stoneman ends up being good enough or not its fine, but players have different routines and know how to get the best out of themselves

Was really poor comments by Vaughan, but nothing unexpected from that charlatan

Malan at 3 and Stokes at 5 according to those near the ground.

Interesting.

Very interesting, so Vince at 6 or dropped you reckon?

Bit harsh, I think he could bowl well in the right conditions. Got good height, can seam it too.

Don't get too caught up with pace, very few players have it

Jury's out, but I think he could have something in these conditions, but like TRJ
