Finishing 6th

Villa isn't the game it was pre 2026.

Only Forest,Wolves,Burnley and Spurs have fewer points than them in 2026.

They also have to play tomorrow

I'd hope we can go there and win.
Villa aren't the team of February and March either. We have McGinn and Tielemans back and have W4 D1 L1 of our last 6. The defeat being at Old Trafford.

Looking at our results during the period when we lost Our 3 most influential midfielders is a pointless task. Especially as 2 of them are back and in form.

We won't be finishing as low as 6th and I would be very surprised if we don't finish top 4.

Our results after European games are generally very good (11 wins from last 12) so whilst it's not not at all impossible for us to lose on Sunday, it would be a surprise result. We are finishing strongly and I think we will edge a tight game.

Fair enough

I don't really pay much attention to other sides situations beyond the base results. Hadn't drilled in to see who you've been missing.

I just see 1 win in last 6 in the prem and think we've got as best of a chance to play you at your place following on from a European game. Where plenty of sides form dips after.

So that's very impressive Emery has had your levels that high following on.

Defs a tougher game on paper than I had hoped it would be then!

Honestly I wouldn’t mind europa league if that’s possible. We’ve been deprived of any European football for generations and I imagine it would be actually a bit of a laugh going to some random team in North Macedonia

Beat Villa and it's quite a bit more likely. Villa need to finish 5th not 6th to give 6th spot a CL spot. They are now 4th and Liverpool are only 3 points behind them so Villa finishing 5th is actually quite likely, especially if they lose at home to us.

Villa also need to win the Europa League. They are 3-1 ahead of Bologna in the QFs so they are one foot in the semis already with no massive teams left in the competition. Winning the Europa League is certainly possible.

The more unrealistic part is us finishing 6th, but if we beat Villa, then we have 2 very winnable games home to Forest and away to Wolves. Not expecting 9 points at all but if we get them, we have a home straight of home vs Manchester United, away v Everton and home vs Chelsea. Tough fixtures but not impossible to get a good points return from those 6 matches.

Anything around 12 points makes 6th possible. 14 + almost guaranteed.

Aston Villa 5th roughly evens, 33% chance approx of winning Europa League, us finishing 6th about 6% so around 1% chance of us qualifying for Champions League as it stands but that would go up to more like 3% if we beat Villa this weekend.

If we beat Villa then this is what we can aim for. Outrageously unlikely, but we've had an outrageous season.

Villa are very tough, but we had amazing form at the start of this season and we have our key players back.

It's not like we've been found out or anything. We are a bastard to play against.

They are coming back from Europe anarl, we should take it to them.

id be over the moon

what an unreal experience it would be, both home and away.

potential historic sides like Fiorentina at the SOL or an away trip to some remote eastern europe, near western asian, petro state.

Be mint
It would be incredible. These remaining games are absolutely huge, buzzing for them

Basically, if we finish exactly 5th and win the EL, then 6th gets a CL place. If we finish top 4 and win the EL then 5th is the final CL place. It's only if we finish 5th and win the Europa that an extra place is given.

But might I add, we are nowhere near winning anything as it stands.
Is it true that the Barton Arms is closed permanently ?...
Damn shame if true , but doesn't suprise me .
Aston being the culturally empowered heart beat of your city that it now is.
