Actually met the dictator Charles Taylor in Frankland. Very very strange bloke
Ah, that's who it is. My wife works in A&E at Durham and she said that when he comes into the hospital there are armed guards everywhere, sharpshooters on the roof, the lot. A very dodgy character by all accounts!

Box of frogs mate. Yeah there are few in there who would warrant the old sharp shooters.

Watched one last night.

Denial starring the ever excellent Timothy Spall as holocaust denier David Irving and the events in the 1990s leading to a ground-breaking libel trial on the subject.

As always with such a great bunch of actors, it is definitely worth a watch.

On BBC iplayer till the weekend.

Ta for the heads up on this one.

In fact check out a few of Spall's films for good true story adaptations. Pirrepoint was superb.

Let Him Have |It as well with Chris Ecclestone in the Dereck Bentley case.

The film yet to made well is the film of Bobby Fischer - World Chess champion from US who defeated the whole of the Soviet regime of chess players despite them trying every trick in the book to stop him.

Mental genius who eventually descended into madness, they tried a film with Toby whatshisname that was Spiderman but it was crap and barely scraped the surface of the human story, what he achieved, and the madness he had, and his mother being followed by the FBI etc. The whole thing is mental.

There is a hell of a film there, somebody will make it some day.

on subject of films based on true stories, chess and Bobby Fischer, if you haven't already seen it would highly recommend early 90's film Innocent Moves? … was about child prodigy chess champion Josh Waitzkin, and film was later re-released or re-named as 'Searching for Bobby Fischer'
It was a big budget film at the time and made by Steve Zaillian (who was multi-award winning writer or co-writer for film hits like Schindlers List, Falcon and the Snowman, Clear and Present Danger, American Gangster, Moneyball, etc)
The film Innocent Moves/Searching for Bobby Fischer had a good cast, had some guest slots for current World chess champions (back in 90's), and I seem to also remember real footage of Fischer threaded through the film/plot. Well worth a watch

Fighting with my family which was ace. UK comedy movie directed by Steven merchant.
You can then go on any porn site and see the main character what the movie is based on getting jizz all owa her face

House Swap

I saw this movie a few years ago before I looked at any reviews and I'm glad I did because I love this movie. Its about an American couple who do a house swap with a couple who live in Glastonbury but the house is stalked by a crazed madman. The house itself is well worth watching this film for and you will see why when you watch it. Its low budget and some of the acting is poor but don't let that put you off, its got some of the most intense horror scenes and it genuinely scared the shite out of me in some parts.

Its apparently a true story.
