Good fillum and very true to actual events except for one detail. When the American staff left their embassy compound they said they first went to the British embassy but were turned away before being taken in by the Canadian embassy. This never happened. Why did they feel the need to put that in?

Neither are remotely true stories other than the fact there was a Scotsman called William Wallace. The scene where the British herded the Americans into a church and set it fire fire was based on a similar incident that happened in France just after D Day
