Favourite or worst gigs/concerts this year.

I’ve been to more gigs this year than I have in any year since I was a teenager. Not a single bad show between them.

For best, I’d probably say Gogol Bordello.

Springsteen in Milan, James in Darlington, Blur at Wembley and The Futureheads at Pop Recs were all class, had a great year for gigs.
'Worst' was probably Cavetown in Glasgow, not my cup of tea but the bairn loved it so all good.

I was waiting outside to give @Dave Herbal a lift home but when i left i thought the gig was finished and it turned out they played one more song..so i nashed..turned out there was too many of yous to give a lift anyway.

War and Treaty in Dublin were excellent

Done more comedy gigs this year than owt else but The Dead South at the city hall at the end of October was absolutely tremendous.

Blur at City Hall was extremely good. Deadletter, (twice) Life (at Pop Recs) loved The Umlauts at Zerox, Laele Neale in Leeds. Peat and Diesel at the Peacock
the worst 15 minutes was Pigs x7 at Lindisfarne.
Loads of cracking gigs.

Best: Mary Wallopers at Kentish Town Forum, watched us beat Luton in the play off first leg at The Assembly House pub beforehand.

Bit of a niche fave but the best gig I went to all year was Wreckless Eric at Claypath Deli

He was sat by himself having a coffee, and I went over to ask him to sign my original copy of Whole Wide World. We got chatting about gigs, and music and the best opening lines in pop music (I would have WWW in my top 10 of all time).

In the end we chatted for so long the promoter came over and reminded him to go on stage and play. Lovely bloke, and a remarkable gig.

The Stranglers are superb..all the haters who criticise them because there’s only JJ in the band from the originals..they don’t know what they’re missing.

Least favourite - From the Jam. Foxton has been unwell, the singer has had better nights.

Seen DMA’s four times this year, twice in the Boro and a Friday Saturday double header in Newcastle. Fantastic band!

The Darkness (twice) brilliant entertainment.

My mate carried Justin on his shoulders for a guitar solo. Lads an massive Darkness fan, he’s obsessed
