I'm loving all these clubs building big stadiums while they are riding a crest of a wave and football is popular. They'll all have empty stadiums when the bubble bursts. Leeds will be back to 16k-26k when they are restored to mid table second division where they have been over half its history.

If you ever get to the PL then I bet those stay at homes from Boldon, Shields and Jarrow will somehow manage to struggle off their pi55-stained sofas and pop along to the SOL before leaving 30 mins after half time 👍

Was a tongue in cheek post that got a couple of nibbles by the looks of it. Regarding Selby, I was going off the only whopper I’ve ever known from there and he was posh. Your hardcore will clearly be diluted by these sorts of fairweathers though.

Our crowds if we got to the PL might only increase slightly seeing as they’re already big now compared to growing from mid 30ks to 53k. And it’s massively different these days compared to when we moved from Roker to the SOL. You’ll be dodging selfie sticks and YouTubers all over the place.

Well take it from me, if you ever get the chance to visit Selby, the very last thing you would describe the place as is posh.
 
Can I politely suggest we leave this thread alone now? I think it’s run its course with little / no sign of any agreement and the fact it has over 300 replies (more than almost any other in fact) shows how tribal topics like this tend to be. Some interesting points raised and fair to assume both clubs have had their ups and downs over the years

Focus on the playoffs as believe it or not there are a great many LUAFC fans that would love to see you up there with us 👍

Fanny, realises he has continously embarrassed himself and leeds are a nothing club with plastic support. Second division club throughout most of its history with terrible support and what's even more embarrassing is poor attendances with a huge catchment to themselves. Deluded puddings. How they have NEVER averaged 40k ever with that amount of people, even when they were good. Won nowt on top of that and I see them as a second division club when I think of them.

Mate, you’re actually a bit of a weapon I think. You’ve got 300+ replies on here talking about our plastic support. More than any other on your main page in fact. This at a time where your season is not over and you have the playoffs to look forward too

You seem sad and more than a little bitter. The fact you are incapable of reasoned debate should not surprise me I suppose

For all your billy big bollox you support a club that has (like Leeds) underperformed for decades. We have a chance to escape that and become a Top6-10 club again. You can also escape and become…..well feck knows really what your clubs capable of but it’s considerably lower than the Top10

You are right in what you say regarding rivalries with other teams but even they have became a bit diluted nowadays. Obviously you haven’t had a good team in a long time . Football violence has decreased which has also taken the edge off games. There will be generations of fans who won’t look at Leeds as a big game anymore but I’ll agree the old guard will .

Live another lifetime and you might see them catch up with Sunderland on league titles, fa cups, top 3 finishes, seasons in the top tier and average 40k fans for a season in the top division or second. You can even thank us for your record attendance too. We've been sh1te 50 years also, so you're totally irrelevant and tinpot.
