Elland road upgrade

Mate,it's what we are called. It's not being precious,it's our actual name. I take it you know absolutely nothing about football,so I will let you off
Most if not all clubs have association in their title - LUAFC included. However I really don’t bleat if someone on a Leeds site who is clearly referring to Leeds issues happens to type LU or LUFC. But in future I will try really, really quite hard to give you the A you well and truly deserve 😉
Traditional, working class club formed with socialist/trade union values.

The way football should be. Unfortunately, the game has been taken away from and is becoming less accessible to working class / low income families.

Personally, and especially with the Saudis up the road. I’d love our club to continue bucking the trend in making football a community sport/accessible to people from every background.

It also amuses me how football supporters almost brag about their club being more expensive to attend! It most be the only thing in life folk enjoy paying more or getting ripped off for!!

Do Leeds or any other clubs fans phone up their gas/electricity or broadband/phone provider asking to pay more? So they can take the piss out of someone paying less for the same thing??

Weird behaviour and no wonder clubs take the piss with pricing
I don’t think any LUAFC fan was bragging to any SaFC fan about cost of tickets. The issue was simply being highlighted as a significant variable and influencer as to why historical attendances were what they were

None of Villa, Newcastle or Sunderland had one single season during the 60's or 70's with an average home attendance above 40,000 so your statement about these are the facts can be easily proven and those clubs having the interest and loyalty that we didn't is quite frankly bullshit.
Sounds like you were wrong about Sunderland anyway but you have failed to understand a simple point yet again.

I chose the 60s and 70s for Leeds because it was your best ever period and in those years you had the Capacity to get over 40K crowds on average. Youve then chosen that same period for the other 3 clubs who weren't successful in those years and stupidly tried to use it for your argument.

Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland have had the Capacity to get over 40K crowds at various points in their history and have repeatedly averaged over that amount across a season on loads of occasions. Leeds on the other hand, had the chance to do it during the 60s and 70s in their best ever period but couldn't manage it. The only explanation is that Football just doesn't mean as much to the City of Leeds or Leeds United fans.

How about Lfc? Which is a different club to yourself. Just like Sfc is a different club to us. I will let you off though, because it is blatantly obvious you know absolutely nothing about football!

The new Elland Road will host over 50k fans. 'doesn't mean much to the city of Leeds' indeed.

You've gone to a hell of an effort to try and belittle Leeds United, I'll give you that.

Ffs…this again. So would Liverpool refer to themselves as LAFC?? I’ll let you into a secret - no one really gives a shit about the word association except pedants. I really can’t believe you are choosing this hill to die on but you just knock yourself out

You seem absolutely intent on playing the man and not the ball. I bet you’re a massive fan of Hulme

You lot need to get in 2025. Most clubs have had bad spells with attendances. We played Newcastle 89/90 first game of the season at theirs, 24,000 including 5,000 Leeds. We played you at yours and less than 20,000. The fact is, in 2025 football is very popular. We will fill 53,000 comfortably, deal with it.

Yeah - you’re really not helping yourself. There is nothing on any of the main Leeds sites about attendances vs Sunderland so I can safely say SFC are very much an afterthought in the minds of the average Leeds fan

You’ve kind of brought this on yourselves by bigging yourselves up at the expense of Leeds and using imperfect data on attendances, prices etc as some sort of hammer to hit Leeds with by claiming you’re bigger / better supported / more loyal. Any Leeds fan on here has simply tried to correct some of the Trumpisms being stated on this site

You really do need to move on from this now and appreciate that you are possibly the 2nd best supported in the NE. That’s not something to be sniffed at so start getting your heads up…

I love the misplaced arrogance. Proper delusions of grandeur, you lot.

As a club your golden period was 50 years ago (though even that is tarnished by cheating) and you've done little of note outside of that.

Your away support is impressive but your home support falls away massively whenever results turn downwards - and for a big city club you have never really lived upto billing. The icing on the cake is your supposed rivalry with a certain club who are generally indifferent towards you.

The next few years might see your potential exploited but until it is all metrics relating to size of club show Leeds aren't top 10 in England (apart from in their supporters minds)

Micky Quinn got 4 that day if memory serves.
5-2?
Lovely sunny Saturday afternoon.

Do you mean apart from:

1962-63 - Division Two - Average Home League Attendance - 40,883
1963-64 - Division Two - Average Home League Attendance - 41,258
1964-65 - Division One - Average Home League Attendance - 40,642

There's no doubt interest piqued after Bielsa won promotion to the PL but why any Leeds fan(s) would be on a Sunderland fans' message board arguing about attendances when, despite the size of your city and the success you've had, you've never averaged over 40k in your history is beyond me, especially when your crowds in The Championship dropped as low as 16,268 (vs Wolves - Sun 10 Sep 06). Which is over 7k less than Bradford City attracted against Colchester United on Sat 22 Mar 25 in League Two.

More and more Leeds fans on my flights from Belfast to Ponteland Airport for every home match. We seem to be mostly at home when they are home as well. On Eater Monday, they were everywhere and already tanked up at 6am for their promotion party

I honestly think you’re wrong about that. On the whole LUAFC fans know exactly what we are and what we are not. Like the Dirty Leeds tag - it just gets played up to

You Leeds lot need to get into 2025 and create your own messageboard instead of infesting ours with your shite.

Ask Liverpool, Man U, City, Chelsea if they see Leeds has a massive game and then the same v you lot. Absolutely no comparison at all. We are a team that missed out on a lot of the Prem due to seriously bad owners. Yet in the last 2 seasons we are the biggest club in the world commercially outside a top flight. Even though we were in the Championship we were in the top 20 clubs in Europe for shirts/merchandise sales.
